The Great GatsbyI read comments that others had a hard time getting through this book. I own this book and I've read it before, a long time ago. I must admit that I, too, got bored with it when I tried to read it in the past. This time I listened to it. Tim Robbins read it and it made a huge difference to hear him act it out. By the end, I had enormous empathy for Gatbsy and yes, contempt for some of the other more shallow characters.
"Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury taking place during the summer of 1928. This book is pure magic - of the sweetness of summer...new shoes, lime-vanilla ice-cream, cicadas that tell the temperature, picking dandelions to make bottled wine. Let yourself get lost in innocent times, and rediscover what it means to LIVE.
