This book combines two of my favourite things. Japan and Fantasy. I really enjoyed it, even if I am frustrated because I need to find the next book in the series to find out what happens next!

Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 231 comments I read Topaz by Leon Uris. This book takes place in several places, including two I'd like to visit, France and Cuba. It is a spy novel that takes on the Cuban Missile Crisis and the relationships between the US, Russia, Cuba, and France. It looks into the basics of the relationship between France and the US as impacted by WWII. I plan on reading more by Mr. Uris. Highly recommended.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Cindy - if you read and enjoyed Topaz I would suggest you read Mila 18 and Exodus by Leon Uris. These are two of my favorite books.

They are on my list. Thanks!

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1) by Maureen Johnson by Maureen Johnson. I always wanted to visit/live in London and this book was one I was excited to read, since I like murder mysteries and paranormal mysteries. But...what a disappointment. Slow paced, with a bland main character and poor world building. The mystery was not all it seemed to be in the synopsis and the ending fell flat to me. Not continuing with the series, unfortunately.
