Josephine *** SPOILERS AHEAD!!! *** Continue only if you've finished the book or read at your own risk!

I feel like Bishop was finished with this series a while ago and wrote this finale out of obligation. The first 25% read like a city handbook of operations. I don't care to know every minute detail of who's running what business. I want character development and interaction! I also don't need constant reminders that the Elders are Namid's teeth and claws. I get it! Move on! Have them do something! I'm so frustrated at how weakly this series finished off. I hate having to write a less than stellar review when it started so spectacularly. *rant over*...for now

Angie Elle It was the weakest of the series for me, though there were parts I still enjoyed. I wish it had focused more on the core characters who've been in the series from the beginning. Simon and Meg made very little headway in their relationship (I'm not talking about sex, though that wouldn't have been a disappointment,) and I would have liked a more resolution there.

Josephine I completely agree that there needed to be more focus on Simon and Meg's resolution. Perhaps the author is simply leaving room for spin-off series. Regardless, I am really bummed this series ended on a flat note.

Tanya I have to agree the series did end on a flat note. I felt so much more could have been done with this last book, and I am a little annoyed that the next book in the series isn't even about lakeside but a whole new character/characters. What is the go with that? Yes Meg, and Simon story should have ended with the last book, making an entire book around Jimmy wasn't a very good idea. I am not sure if the next book will be any good, since one of the reason I loved the story so much was because of the characters, and I cant see the next lot of characters in the series will be like the ones from lakeside. I think I will pretend the series ended with the last book, and not read the next books In this series

Josephine The cast of secondary characters solidified my love for this series. Pushing them into the background was very unfortunate. I want more of them, not less. The next series in this world takes place in an entirely new environment. I don't think I'll be going there.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* Im not planning on reading the other books either. I didn't fall in love with the world-building because some of it bugged me, but I did fall in love with the lakeside community characters.
