Was the mystery a puzzler or did you figure out the culprits pretty easily? Should Jo have seen through Sandy?

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I did not figure it out. I was suspicious of Sandy pretty early on but I thought he had killed his father, the judge, so I was wrong on that score. There were too many killers, I think, lol.

I thought it a gnarly mystery, especially when you overlay the mystical aspect and Indian lore. I didn't get much right but was always suspicious of Sandy. If Jo had opened her eyes, she would have seen his failings as a human being but not necessarily the extent of his evil nature.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments Yeah, I don't think anyone's first thought is to think their lover/significant other is a murderer.

Mary Beth | 193 comments I did not figure it out either! It was a big surprise. I agree Veronica how could Jo even think that her lover is the murderer.

I kind of gave up on guessing what was going to happen next when I wasn't sure if the murderer was something supernatural. I know I didn't like Sandy.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments He was too slick to be likable.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
Slick is the perfect description of him.

Angela | 155 comments I was suspicious of Sandy and felt throughout the book that he had some hand in events. I wasn't sure how, but he seemed too good to be true. Plus maybe because he was a politician it made be wary of him.

I felt for Jo. I don't think she could have seen through Sandy. He was very good at portraying an image to present the world.
