I've tried BookBuzzr out with Mating Net , and another nice thing about the venture is that the BookBuzzr people twitter to promote the widget.

There are a couple of precautions an author should take. If posting more than one chapter (especially if you sold or licensed your electronic rights as well as print to your publisher) is to ask permission.

The professional courtesy never hurts.

Secondly, make sure you don't accidentally upload the entire book. Put your excerpt into its own file before you start, so there is no possibility of an accident.
