Hi Guys,

This topic is for everybody to introduce themselves and to break the ice. Welcome to our group and feel free to ask or discuss whatever you want.

I'm Noran, by the way, and I'm a freelancer editor. I'm quite new but that's okay, right? :)

Silkeeeeeereads | 1 comments I just joined the group. It looks brand new, guys. I'm not a new editor. In fact, I'm working on getting a paid position with some publishers. I have 4 outstanding author written referrals and from well-known authors. Does anyone else have a bit of a problem with beta readers? I think authors use them for free to fix their grammar, spelling and punctuation problems. So, when you first start with a publisher, they want you to take a non-paid line-editor or proofing position for a year before you get moved up into any type of content editor position, even if you have experience as a content editor. It has just kind of got under my skin a little.
