Lion for me ... snow on March 1 ... woke up March 2 to snow-covered landscape. Really pretty to look at ... not so much for driving ..

Like a lamb, we drove out to the outerbanks for a picnic.

... anytime I feel a little "stuck" on life's journey I re-read this.

I'm on the board at my local library, and at a local theatre company.
I used to help out with study hall for a school that focused on at-risk middle-school students, but now that I work full time that isn't possible.

I belong to the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens). So far I haven't been given any jobs to do but we are trying to get a theater group going for handicapped individuals. That should be interesting.
I also have done some volunteer work for the local Humane Society but haven't done it for a while.

I currently volunteer at our local history museum.

It's not really a six-month goal but I do want to get through my taxes!

Okay, before I answer just remember that I was a teenager...New Kids on the Block.
Leah wrote: "March 7, Tuesday: What was the first music concert you ever attended?"
I saw Van Cliburn perform the Tschiakovsky piano concerto. I was 15 (I think).
Probably not what you were referring to, though ...
I think my first "rock" music concert was Herman's Hermits (I was a teenager in the '60s)

Kenny Rogers with Crystal Gale. She was very pregnant at the time. That baby must be at least 40 years old by now.

I remember that I was in 5th grade and my parents took me to a Neil Diamond concert for my birthday. He was really something in the early seventies.

I would have loved to see that!
Friday, March 10 - Somehow we missed International Women's Day on March 8th. What woman(women) do you admire?

I admire women who go where no woman has gone before and break glass ceilings.

I don't know. I've never had one.

I've never had that problem either.

I usually take a small break then pick a random book off my shelf.
Leah wrote: "March 13, Monday: How do you get out of a reading slump?"
I'll usually go to a book I know I love, such as Harry Potter. Cleanse my palette and that usually gets me back into gear.

Retire!
I gave notice and my last day of work will be June 9.

Congrats, BC.

I would make it warmer. Winter has returned!

Congrats! You'll be "free" just in time for summer... :)

My work as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for the ambulance service.

My charitable work ... for education, for the arts.

Leah wrote: "March 17, Friday: Are you doing anything to celebrate St. Patrick's Day?"
Nope .... Hubby's cooking dinner and we are staying safely indoors.

made corned beef and colcannon, irish whiskey glazed carrots, and soda bread....oh, and drank a couple Guiness beers for good measure :)
Leah wrote: "March 20, Monday: Why do we think of others the most when they’re gone?"
I think it is partly to do with our way of grieving. So many little things will remind me of my mother, or my father. For example, when I made dinner on Sunday I thought of my dad because it was a dish he frequently made for us when we were children. I dressed for work this morning, and put on three bracelets ... just as my mother always did. (In fact, two of the bracelets were hers.)

I worked on St. Patrick's day, but would like to share that on St. Patricks Day 42 years ago I became a mom for the very first time.
Leah wrote: "March 21, Tuesday: Who is your mentor and what have you learned from them?"
I had a mentor for several years, until he took another job and moved to California. I recently heard from him ... just to say hello. I learned much about the business of health care administration from him, as well as ways to deal with and negotiate with some difficult personalities.
