Killian, L, and River walked passed house number 126 but decided to look inside after all.
"It's nice," Killian said, looking at it from the street. "And big enough."

"Certainly looks big from the outside," L said, looking over the house. "We should see inside though."
They walked into an open entry way with a tall staircase. "Whoa..." River breathed. "This is nice."
"Man, this is nicer than our old house!" L agreed. "But it's too clean.... I don't think that's going to last long."
"Probably not," Killian agreed. "It is newer, and empty after all."
River couldn't decide whether to go upstairs or downstairs.
River couldn't decide whether to go upstairs or downstairs.
L laughed a little because she'd gotten him to say it and it sounded weird, but she didn't say anything more about it as she followed him down.
"River, are you going to keep track of bedrooms?" L asked, walking around and peeking in the rooms.
"We didn't even look," River said. "What if there are?"
"She has a point," Killian said, more laid back as he looked in each room.

"There might be, but either way, there's probably more upstairs. Unless we have an attic that's not as hidden as the last one," L said.
Killian thought about their old home. It all seemed so long ago. "The basement is pretty nice," he commented. "I like this place already, even without seeing the rest yet."
"Let's go upstairs," River said excitedly.
"Let's go upstairs," River said excitedly.
"I agree, it is nice," L said. "So far it's a pretty good fit for us too. I just don't know how I feel about it yet, I guess." It was weird really, because Lake was the type of person to have an opinion of everything right away and therefore it was rare for her to not in such situations as this.
River hurried up the stairs and Killian followed. "The kitchen is big," River called to her mom.
"Does it have a dishwasher?" L called back, though she was positive a place like this wouldn't be without a dishwasher.
L laughed. "You realize that with Rowan not around as much, someone else with an R name will be doing the dishes."
"Let's see, anything else interesting in the kitchen?" L asked, walking in and starting to look around.
"Yay," L said with only a little enthusiasm. "Makes up for the outside not being orange, I guess."
He led the way and River quickly followed them up. At the top of the stairs there was a small open area with rounded windows that they had seen from the front. "This would be a nice place to put all of the bookshelves," Killian said. "And a chair or two."
River slowly skipped down the hall, holding her notebook behind her. The first room she found was good sized but she didn't like that the window was too far to the right. So she went to the next room and found that this window was too close the left. With a sigh, she checked across the hall and found a window that went from floor to ceiling, almost, right in the center of the wall. She didn't like it.

"I agree. This would make a nice little sitting room," L said. "It should be pretty quiet too, even if it is right at the top of the stairs."
"With the kids being in there dorms or at school all the time, it should be," he said with a nod.
River opened the last door and found a bathroom. She then decided to go down the hallway on the left side of the sitting area instead. "Master bedroom is this way," she commented. It had to be since she hadn't seen it.
She walked all the way to the end of the hallway and found that she was correct. "Yep. Right here!" She called to her parents.

"Ooh lets go see," L said, pulling Killian towards the left hallway so they could see the master bedroom. "By the way, what color am I allowed to paint our room?"
"Grey," he said simply. "But the pillows can be orange." He was only teasing after all.
River checked the room closest to the master and found the bathroom. Directly across the hall, she found the best fit for her. The window was about hip level and went to the ceiling, almost. And it was right in the middle. That meant she could put in her window seat. She quickly checked the room next to it and found that it was the same. Which one did she want though?

"Throw in some purple and it will look like our wedding," she joked. "Or did we have a fourth color? I honestly can't remember."
"I think it was just Orange and Grey," He commented. "Maybe a little purple."

"I feel like we had a little purple in the accents during the reception," she said. "But then again, that could have been something else stuck in my head."
He shrugged. "It was twenty years ago. I honestly only remember our favorite colors." The closet light went on automatically when he went inside. "This thing is huge."
