Tim | 152 comments Thought I'd start a nomination thread for our next group read.

Please read the rules below for nominating BEFORE you create your post!! And check our bookshelves to be sure you are not nominating something we have already read as a group within the past five years! Books that were read in the first years of the group are fine to repeat as we have many new members since then.

Only ONE nomination per person.

Please be sure to post the title and author.

Authors may not nominate their own books.

Please add your selection to this thread. Once there are a sufficient number of titles, we will vote via a poll. Each person may choose one title.

Remember, the authors should be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, or feature significant gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender characters in their work. Queer can be interpreted as broadly as we like.

Any genre (SF/fantasy, horror, romance, mystery), non-fiction, and classics are acceptable. Based on this criteria, we should have plenty of books to choose from. If you are nominating a title that is part of a series, please make sure to nominate the first book, unless we have already read it as a group.

The book discussions will start as soon as poll voting is done and continue through the end of May. This should give everyone sufficient time to obtain and read the books.

Tim | 152 comments I'm nominating a memoir, Making My Pitch: A Woman's Baseball Odyssey by Ila Jane Borders.

A great sports memoir that includes a Borders' moving story of coming out. Lots of insight into the world of baseball but an enjoyable read whether you're a sports fan or not.

Greg Shoot! I was hoping to get one available on audiobook for my commute, but I can't find an audiobook of that one by Chabon. So I change my vote to one that Rick nominated before, We the Animals.

Oh, there is one - on cassette - at Amazon... but it costs $163.30. Yikes! (https://www.amazon.com/Mysteries-Pitt...)

Thanks John - a bit too expensive for me, but good to know it was recorded! Probably a copyright issue preventing it from being on Audible at the moment - hopefully that will change someday.
