It's called Het groene vuur by Eva Raaff. Apparently it's a dutch series, hence a lot of people wouldn't have read it.
Thanks anyway.

It's been a while since I read it, so I don't remember much and it might not be correct, but...
It takes place in a medieval setting (spears and swords etc.) and there is a war going on. The "Evil" queen rules over her part using the green fire.
I'm not certain of the next point, but if i recall correctly, the "Evil" queen was also under influence of the green fire, which caused her to make the wrong choices.
I think she was also the mother of the main character.
Other than that I remember there being an "older" man that kept talking about "Grey-thinking", using a small cube as example; one half white, one half black, but if you spin it, they blur to grey.
The story ended with a new castle being built in the middle of the 2 fighting countries, governing them both.
It was a trilogy, and I could swear that one of the titles included "Green Fire" in it, but I can't find it.
Hope you can help, and thanks in advance :)
