Have you read anyone you think may be a great up and coming author? Or several up and coming authors you would like to tell us about? Maybe someone's books you just can't keep out of your head and their books are so good you have read almost every/ or every book they wrote so far?

Karen ⚜Mess⚜ I can't think of any up and coming authors. I know of some low key authors that I really enjoy like Annie Bellet and Dannika Dark

Here is an author that I really enjoyed here books about Genies! I loved "I Dream of Genie" for years so when I find books about them I love it. Lori Goldstein is the authors name. Becoming Jinn, Circle of Jinn, The Genius of Jinn. If you want to check out here books.

I don't know about "up and coming," since this author is in his nineties, but Elias Doundoulakis Trained to be an OSS Spy has written one whale of a memoir about growing up in Greece during WWII, escaping, and returning to be an OSS spy.

I so far have really enjoyed the "Dead Things series" Dark Dreams and Dead Things, and Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. These are the only two books I read from this author but so far I like the series and the authur.

Aiya | 22 comments I love finding new authors and small-press "gems" that are great novels but just don't have the big publishing house marketing push those writers get. Some foreign writers are much the same -- great stuff that never gets the attention it deserves.

I read this book a couple months ago and just loved it. It's a great crime novel/thriller/humor tale like Carl Hiaasen or Janet Evanovich. I really recommend it (unless you're sensitive to profanity): Plain Brown Wrapper by Greg Lynch.

Here's one of my favorite Japanese horror stories: Another by Yukito Ayatsuji.

A great detective/noir book I read a while ago: The Do-Right by Lisa Sandlin.
