I got this one recently and enjoyed the read. I kept seeing this and the authors other series on Amazon, but I never bought them. After reading Thief, I read all 6 books in her other series straight through. It sounds like her series flow straight form one book to the next. They read okay as a book, but a lot gets left dangling because the author just picks right up a few days later, or even the next day, in the following book. There are things I could nit-pick (a glaringly obvious issue of 9 boys and 1 girl - in The Ghost Bird Series - can you say uber-submissive?), and yet I didn't really care. I just wanted to keep reading. I was a little ticked to finish book 6 and find out I had to wait for 7. So far I like The Ghost Bird Series a little better, but I think if there were more books in The Scarab Bettle I might not feel that way. I'll put a review up on goodreads sometime this week for it.

This year I read the arc of The Falconer by Elizabeth May certainly worth checking out that ending though.... just got an arc of The Spiritglass Cherade 2nd I a steampunk ya series featuring the young women the neice of sherlock holmes and the sister od bram stoker by Colleen Gleason.
