This was a pretty short story. Was it suspenseful enough? What worked/didn't work?

It was a great story and very suspenseful. It worked for me. It helped draw Daphne out of the victimness and focused her on someone else.

I thought it worked great as an extended epilogue and since I thought the previous book had an abrupt ending I was really glad to get this look at how things were going.

Agree with you both. At the end of the last story, I was needing a little bit more and this did the trick. And, it brought Daphne closure to her own guilt about what she didn't do as a child.
