Literature Map Chain Challenge (2.0)
**The original version of this challenge was posted by Dawn (Kat N Hat) in December 2012**
Thanks to literature-map.com

The aim of this challenge is to broaden your reading horizons by introducing you to authors you may not have tried before, but hopefully will enjoy.
How it works: Pick one of your favourite authors and read one of their books to start your chain. Next, enter the author into The Literature Map. This will bring up a list of similar authors. The closer to the centre of the "map" they are, the closer their style will be to your original author. Choose an author from the map, then read a book by that author. To make the next link revisit the map, enter your second author, choose an author close to them and read one of their books. Continue the chain in this way until you reach your goal.
Example:
First Author: 1. James Patterson
Links to: 2. Patricia Cornwell
Links to: 3. Mary Higgins Clark
Links to: 4. Lisa Gardner
It will not always be possible to choose a new to you author for each link but as the idea is to expand your horizons, please try to do so where you can.
Choose your level:
10 author chain
15 author chain
25 author chain
NB: You may choose to work on more than one chain at a time but each chain must have a minimum of 10 authors (i.e two separate chains, one of 6 authors and one of 4 authors, would not count as a 10 author chain.)
Duration: One Year from your start date
RULES
*You must choose a different author for each link.
*Authors must be read in order of their place in the chain.
*For each book that you read please post a link to the book, the author and the date you finished it.
*To count a book towards a challenge you must read the majority of it after the start date of the challenge.
*All genres and formats are fine.
*Re-reads are NOT allowed (the only exception is your first book in the chain as you may have already read everything by your favourite author)
*No page minimum.
*Please update your original post as you go but also post an occasional message to let us know how you're getting on, if you would like to.
*When you have finished please re-post your whole challenge as a new message or you will not be considered to have completed the challenge and we will not be able to award your Hall of Fame badge
(Even if you don't hit the level you were aiming for by the deadline, please re-post your challenge anyway as you may still be eligible for a lower level badge.)
Please see TLC Standard Challenge Rules for further details.

Yes, as long as the chain fits in with the (minor) rule changes (i.e different author for each link, no re-reads etc) then that's fine :)

I started reading the Outlander series a LONG time ago! I liked the Harkness series especially for the history that is woven in the story.

TLC Literature Map Chain Challenge
Start Date: January 1, 2018
End Date: December 31, 2018
Level: 10 author chain

I have decided that since I'm having problems even reading this year, I should drop a few of the challenges. This one tends to put a strain on my reading more than help it, so I might try again next year. I'm just having a tough year. It was fun though! :)
