Many times. I've enjoyed Toronto (twice), Montreal (once), Vancouver (3 or 4 times), as well as traveling farther into Ontario and British Columbia.

I would love to go to Canada but never been there yet!

July 5, Wednesday: Yesterday was Independence Day in the United States. What did you do for the holiday?

We just hung around the house on Tuesday, except for a very quick trip to the grocery store for some sandwich fixin's. Watched the 4th of July concerts from Washington DC, and fireworks from NYC and Boston ... we could hear the booms from our local displays, though we can't see them due to the trees. Sure sounded like they were in our backyard, though.
But on MONDAY ... Hubby and I took a drive up to a small village about 10 miles north of us. It's like a Norman Rockwell painting come to life. People were using chalk to outline their "spots" along the parade route for Tuesday ... and apparently everyone honors those chalk outlines. We wandered around, and stopped at a local place for lunch. It was "Wine Monday" with bottles at half-price ... what the heck, we're retired .... On our walk back to the car, we stopped at a chocolate shop and indulged in a turtle, each (milk chocolate almond for him; dark chocolate pecan for me).

We stayed home, played Frisbee and had a cookout with our neighbor. She was alone for the holiday. We shot off some fireworks and got to watch a pretty good show from all our neighbors.

I have not been to Canada, but have been very close, to Tower, Minnesota, where I have relatives.

Went for a pontoon ride, had pizza with family, shot off some fireworks and then went to watch our local fireworks. There was lightening close by the fireworks which was pretty spectacular.
July 7, Friday: If your place was one fire and you could save one thing (people and pets are already safely out), what would it be?

Family photo albums

Yep. Photo albums.

My first edition (12th printing) of To Kill a Mockingbird (I keep telling myself I need to put it in my safe deposit box ... but I like looking at it on the shelf ....)

Go outside with a tall glass of lemonade or iced tea and sit in the shade. Stay away from the hot pavements of the city. It is way cooler in the country.

updating my posts on GoodReads! LOL
updating my posts on GoodReads! LOL

Reading, of course, and playing Candy Crush.
July 11, Tuesday: We are a little over halfway through the year. Have you been able to stick to your goals for the year - both in reading and otherwise?

I don't make goals. I just read what I want.

Reading and playing on the computer.

I am way behind in my goals, but I'm going to try my best to catch up.

Not formally, but in my head I thank God when I see something beautiful in nature or have a beautiful day or something good happens to me. Hope he hears!

The one that I read and didn't skim? It would have to be Gone With The Wind. I've actually read it 3 times.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
July 19, Wednesday: Do you prefer to see movies in the theater or wait for them to come out for home viewing?

I prefer to wait as well. I find it hard to enjoy the movie at the theater.

I was never keen to explore, but .... The wife of one of my cousins did some extensive research and published a "book" about our family. She send copies to everyone a couple of years ago for Christmas. Interesting reading.

No, but my father and sister were really into it. Since they have both passed now I have inherited their work. My father's information is very organized but my sister's not so much. I will organize it as best as I can to preserve it in case a future generation catches the bug.

Everyone in all nations gets along. Could that ever be possible?

But see, this isn't possible as long as there is 'mental illness' which results in misconceptions and delusions which manifests into greediness which leads to friction and eventually wars. Andk sad to day, 'mental illness' is rampant on our planet.
