George Romero is best remembered for being the director of the oringinal Night of the Living Dead and has been called "The godfather of the modern zombie genre". I know this is a vampire group, but I love zombie stuff too and I loved George Romero's low budget, yet good, horror films

He did do some vampire stuff too. He directed a vampire movie called Martin in 1978 with Tom Savini (that's the special effects artist who played "Sex Machine" in From Dusk Till Dawn ). He actually said that was his favorite film out of all the ones he's directed. I have not seen Martin, but I've been meaning to check it out for a while. He also wrote a vampire/zombie comic book series called Empire of the Dead, which was supposed to be turned into a television series on AMC, but I don't know what is going on with that. Hopefully it's still happening.

I thought it would be proper to say a few words about him on here, because he wasn't just influential on zombie films, he was an influence on all types of horror films. And of course if there was no Night of The Living Dead, The Walking Dead would not exist.

R.I.P. George A. Romero, you will be remembered and missed.
