How many urban fantasy authors use locations that they live in? I've decided to make my series centred in Devon, England. Book one is set around Crediton (a rural town), and Exeter (city).
I suppose I'm lucky in that both are packed with history. Exeter has been a settlement since pre-Roman times and so has amazing bits and bobs that I can use, as well as an incredible set of locations (those that weren't bombed by the Germans, or destroyed by the post-war council).
