Every girl who had taken the test has died.
Now it's Kate's turn.

It's always been just Kate and her mom - and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear that her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld - and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy - until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride and a goddess.

OMG they were so good. I have the collection of Novella's I am going to read but I wanted to let you read them. I really didn't mean too. I only wanted to read the first one so I could fill the mythology category for us but I read it and couldn't stop reading. So I had to keep going. I promise I really tried to slow down. But I am here the whole time you read it. You're gonna like it I think :)

Hera (view spoiler)[ aka Calliope. So I cannot stand her. I feel like she is just plain evil. She is an evil, mean person. I’m convinced she has to nice bone in her goddess body. Reading about her I thought I would maybe start to feel sorry for her, but I can’t, I’ve read the last book I know what she does. Excuse me while I don’t care nothing happening to her can excuse her behavior. I mean yeah your husband is an adulterer but you’re married for ETERNITY!!!! And you have a thing for Hades/Henry anyway, pot meet kettle. (hide spoiler)]

Aphrodite (view spoiler)[ aka Ava. I loved her in the books, even if she turned against Kate and caused a major issue. I loved to see her fling with Ares holy hell was that sexy af. I don’t know what it is about Aphrodite I know a lot of people can’t stand her but I really liked her character (hide spoiler)]

Persephone (view spoiler)[ I didn’t like her in the books but I almost kinda like her novella part. I feel like I got to understand her attitude and the things she said in the series a little bit more after reading this. I liked to see the conflict and how her and Aphrodite acted towards each other. I became to understand her a little bit more but I cannot excuse most of how she acted towards Hades/Henry. It made me mad, it’s like she was a spoiled toddler used to getting her way. (hide spoiler)]

Hermes (view spoiler)[ aka James. So I loved James in the series. He was one of my favorite characters. So lovable and kind and a great friend and ally to Kate. I loved Tuck’s character in this story and I loved to get a little more of a background on James and why he is the way he is (hide spoiler)]

Hades (view spoiler)[ aka Henry. So I really really loved Henry in all of the other books, even though he annoyed me sometimes with how he treated Kate. I feel like during Persephone’s story you can really feel his heart breaking piece by piece. It tugged at the heart strings for sure! We get to see a little more about the girls, the ones who failed. And we get to see him meeting Kate. It was great to see. God I loved this part of the story (hide spoiler)]

10% I thought that was a little too fancy... yeah I wouldn't have realized the whole peninsula and Canada and French thing.

25% I also wondered if her mom had anything to do with this whole arrangement... why would she ask Kate to go to the gates before making it to their new home?
