It is still my opinion that it will go down as one of the best tv episodes of all-time. It was just freaking insane. My heart was pounding when Viserion showed up because at that point...I knew what was going to happen. Seeing it happen was a whole other thing. It was heartwrenching. I teared up.

I totally agree, in fact this whole season has been jaw dropping! What will we do for a year and s half? Rewatch? There just is no other TV show or movie to compare with this amazing epic series!

Question: since this is for GoT fans do we have to be wary of spoilers? The fun is to talk about all of it, theories and what actually happened.

They did a phenomenal job on the GCI for the dragons in that episode and this season. I still think the whole mission was dumb. (view spoiler)[ I guess they needed to do it so the Night King could get the dragon. Dany said she needed to see to believe it. They all almost died to capture this Wight to bring back for Cersei to see. She was never going to work with them anyway. I guess at least Jamie finally jumped off team Cersei. You pick up so many more things on a re watch. This season there were a lot of callbacks to past seasons/scenes/quotes. The Arya/Sansa rooftop scene reminded me of the Jon/Sansa rooftop scene in last seasons finale.

I'd like to reread the first few books and read the rest before season 8. Maybe Winds of Winter will finally be released before season 8.

I'm going to try hard to avoid spoilers for season 8. I don't want the final season ruined before I watch it. I don't want to know how it ends before it ends. Spoilers were dropping like crazy this season with leaked scripts etc.... I heard that season 8 might not air until 2019.

Now is the time to savor b.c. we can still have hope that the show will have a satisfying ending. Now is the time where we can hope that the characters we love will survive the series. I want an ending where I can still go back an re watch the series. I don't think I could ever re watch the series if Jon Snow doesn't survive the series. All the Stark kids better make it out alive. They have had way more than their share of bitter. I say the Stark kids have had 98% bitter in this series and maybe 2% semi-sweet. Ghost better make it out alive too since they never show him.

(view spoiler)[ I guess I could deal with Bran dying b.c. the Bran we know seems pretty much gone at this point :( I just wish that this seasons Bran was still acting like last seasons Bran after the cave.

I love the Hound a lot too. I want him to find a little happiness at the end of the series. I really want him to survive the series. I could see him dying for Arya or Sansa etc... I hope he doesn't die if there is a Cleganbowl.

I hope Tormund survives too b.c. he is the face of the Wildlings.
I hope Dany doesn't die either b.c. she has suffered enough too and Jon's lost enough already.

I'd be shocked if Tyrion died in the last season. He is the only character I think is safe. I don't think Sam will die either. They are the only characters that I'm confident won't die.

I definitely want to finish book 4. I stopped reading in it April 2014 and never picked it back up. I was about 60% through it too. Not a DNF, just a put it down and picked up other books instead.

And then I want to read book 5! My husband said book 5 was good.

I read the first two books. I started the 3rd book but never finished it b.c. I was busy with school. The books are so long. I really do want to try to read the rest.

I hope that Sam is the one to tell Jon the truth b.c. I agree that it would be way better if Sam told him as opposed to this version of Bran. I love/adore Jon/Sam's friendship so much in the show so I can't wait to see some scenes with them again. Sam and Jon always have the awkward sex convos with each other so that would be appropriate. I really hope they have the awkward intimate convo about Jon/Dany. I am sure that Sam can find a way to make Jon laugh or say something to lighten the moment. I hope they talk about Maester Aemon. I made it all the way to the middle of book 5 and put it aside. At the time I thought book 5 was the last one and when I found out there were 3 more books, I kind of lost steam. After this season, I'm ready to make it through all 5 books this time. I can already see that I missed so much the first time. I understand what's going on now and who all the side characters are after 7 seasons of the show. It's a brand new experience!

Reading the books after watching the show is easier for me because it helps to grasp onto the characters to have a face with them.

I read the first book and started the second and then just let it go to watch the TV show, knowing it would be a different story I would rather read separately. I am ready to read them all now.

I really liked the Sam one too. I think Sam would be the perfect person to tell Jon. I was worried that he would have to hear that from Bran. It's kind of weird reading the books though b.c. the characters are younger. I think Jon and Rob are like 14/15 in the first book. I think Dany was 13.

I think it could end up being a Prince and Princess that was promised. They had Missandei make a point of saying that the Valyrian could be prince or princess. I think that Dany and Jon both fit some aspects of the prophecy. IDK(view spoiler)[ Someone pointed out though that Jon was literally a prince who was promised. Lyanna made Ned promise to protect Jon. Jon was born under a "bleeding star". They made a point of showing Ned place Arthur Dayne's sword Dawn at the foot on Lyanna's birthing bed. (hide spoiler)]

I wanted to see Sam finding out (view spoiler)[ that Jon was murdered by Ollie and Allister etc.... and that he was King of the North. Those are big things for Sam to find out yet they just skipped right past it. Sam was at the Citadel all that time and never found out. It's one of my gripes about this season. I want Jon and Sam to have a quick chat next season about Jon getting stabbed in the heart by Ollie/murdered by the Night's Watch mutineers. Sam still needs to find out that his Dad and brother died.

Kit and Jon Bradley said that it was partly Sam's fault that Jon got stabbed by Ollie in the first place b.c. Sam had that chat with Ollie about Jon. Also, they pointed out that Sam in a way caused Ygrittes death b.c. he told Ollie to get a weapon. Ollie ended up shooting her with the bow and arrow.

I do think that Sam is the best person to tell Jon. Like I said, Sam could find a way to add some humor to it. I hope they chat about Maester Aemon. Some characters seemed forgotten this season. I want Jon to mention Uncle Benjen to someone and what he did for Jon. Jon was focused on Dany's heartache so he didn't mention that he just lost his hero.

I'm more curious to see how on earth Jon is going to break that news to Dany. How do you even start that conversation? Those will be some riveting scenes.

I think Sam will be the one to tell Jon about his birthright. Dany will feel very threatened because she has believed all along that she is the rightful heir. But Jon does not care to be king. He has already bent the knee.
I did think that Jon and Dany were Ice and Fire but the more I learn about Jon and his ancestry I see that he is Ice and Fire, Stark and Targaryen.
As far as other characters, Benjin has perished. I think the six episodes that await us won't be going into too much depth about characters that are not central to the end game: who wins the throne. We will see more dragons and more epic battles and clashes of kings. But epically the battle with the dead. And who will kill the Ice King? Kill him and the rest fall too.

I hate that there are only 6 episodes left. I feel like there won't be enough time for characters to have all the conversations that I want them to have in the show.(view spoiler)[ Jon could be considered Ice and Fire. Dany and Jon can also be Ice and Fire. Rhaegar and Lyanna can be Ice and Fire too. Melisandra said that she brought "Ice and Fire" together. I think in the show they are leaning more towards Jon and Dany as the song of ice and fire. I'm sure that Dany will be upset but she won't have long to be upset. I think Jon would get annoyed b.c. he will be focused on saving the world and won't want to fight over what he feels are petty things. The people in the North would probably push for Jon to take the thrown over Dany. Jon doesn't want the thrown but he always gets stuck in these powerful positions that he does not want. Like Jon told Dany, she will be ruling over a graveyard if they don't focus on the Night King. I think the best option is for them to just rule together as equals. That is if they both survive. Who knows with Game of Thrones. Jon better not die (or if he does die again he better be resurrected again). I don't want Dany to die either b.c. she has been through enough and Jon already lost one great love. GRRM said the end would be bittersweet. One of them dying would be tragic and not bittersweet.

I'm sure Sam and Sansa will probably push for Jon to sit on the throne. I want the Iron Throne to be destroyed at the end of the series. They can always make two chairs/thrones. I really want Jon to remain in the North. I don't want him living in Kings Landing at the end of the series. I wouldn't want Jon living above a potential time bomb. There is still Wildfire under King Landing. Tyrion and Cersei had them make even more for the Battle of Blackwater. Also, he belongs in the North with Ghost. Maybe Kings Landing will get blown up by Cersei. idk (hide spoiler)]

I've heard from GRRM fans that romance is not his thing and he will probably do things differently. So be it. It's crazy b.c. they really do look like they could be siblings. The guys that play Rhaegar and Viserys look so much alike. (view spoiler)[ I was on the fence about the casting for Rhaegar. There was a rumor that this singer named Devon Oliver might play Rhaegar. I thought he looked perfect for the role. I think he looked more how I envisioned Rhaegar. It turned out to just be a publicity stunt.

I'm doing a series re-watch. I'm on season 6 in my re-watch. Season 6 was one of my favorite seasons. I want to avoid season 8 spoilers as much as possible so I don't want to see to many videos. I hate how youtubers will just put the spoiler in the picture icon on the side of the page. Like there will be a pictures and says R.I.P this character. The leaks now are just fan theories and I think fake leaks. I accidently saw some leaks but most people think the leaks are fake. The actors didn't even have the scripts yet. I don't want to know the end before I watch the series finally.

I don't watch the leaks either, don't want to know what happens. I am watching theories and explanations (theories) about what happened and what may happen. Do not want leaks.

The theories are interesting. I've managed to stay away from leaks so far.

The President of HBO said that they are going to film multiple endings for the GOT series finale to combat leaks. It stinks if you like one ending they shoot and it turns out to be one of the fake ones.

I think they are shooting multiple endings so if anything is leaked you can't know if you should believe it or not. Trying to get ahead of the leakers. I'm in favor. I don't want to know the ending until I am watching it.
