I will start to read this properly only tomorrow. So far I've only read a few pages from chapter 1 ^^.

How about we read 5 chapters per day (the chapters are pretty long)? Would that be ok with you guys?

Yeah that seems like a good plan, although, some days I work all day. I will try my hardest!

I have read up to chapter 7 so far.

I think it starts off a little slow, but it gets good starting at the actual ceremony. :)

I haven't started yet. :( I just started this really big crochet project and it's taken up all my time lately. I'm going to try to start later tonight.

It has been getting better. I came into the book thinking it would have a lot of action and adventure, but it seems the book is taking a different approach. I feel like the author is focusing more on an intricate plot of political alliances and hidden secrets.

Comments on your spoiler comments and questions: (view spoiler)[ I do believe that the dragon chose her, but I don't believe they are completely bound to each other yet because she didn't call out the name that the dragon wanted her to (in fear her secret be relieved). And yes, Ido is terrible and he only gets worst! (hide spoiler)]

For those who have read up to chapter 10 or beyond, I have some questions and comments:

I'm getting ready to start chapter 6.
(view spoiler)[I had a feeling the Mirror Dragon was going to pick her considering she's really 16 instead of 12. I really don't like Ido or Ranne. Both seem too sure of themselves and what they want. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6-10

Not even that.... she spends so many pages on enumerating food and enumerating dragons, and enumerating furniture that this book is really hard to read or stay interested in.

In the last 5 chapters we had basically 3 things of importance happening:

- Eon was requested to choose the emperor's side and stay as a buffer between the Crown Prince and Lord Ido
- Lord Ido tries to kill eon's master (hide spoiler)]

And it took us 100 pages to find all that. 100 freaking pages and almost no action!!! nothing happened! It's just angst and angst and angst. OMG! I still have 260 pages left.... God have mercy on me.

What I'm really upset is that I've read almost half of this book and it's boring as fuck. >.<

If only... a little romance might actually make this story interesting. but so far the author's approach was: avoid any unnecessary interesting parts. Try to make the narration as boring as possible. she leavs hints here and there that something interesting it's going to happen, but it never does. When Lord Ido lost it at the meeting i was something like: Yey! finally, something interesting is happening! It lasted less than a page though. :( (hide spoiler)]

I just read this huge spoiler about the love interest. And now I'm intrigued. Everyone seems to agree that this book was rather more like an introduction to the main story that's going to happen in the sequel (Eona). But I'm going to listen to the audiobook for that one. It's hard to read long books because the book is freaking heavy XD.

I finished the book! Finally! I just think that there was like 200 pages in the middle that we totally unnecessary and super boring. It took her forever to figure out to embrace her Moon side! Geez! The last 100 pages or so are good and have action, so just try to make it that far.
It really was a bit of a struggle to read this book. I feel like it was mainly a introduction to the real plot in the second book (however, I am scared to read the second book if its anything like the first). In that case, it just seemed like 500 pages of a boring prologue or introduction.
Overall, I was a bit disappointing.

Also, a note about the ending: Spoiler
(view spoiler)[ What was that with Ido? How did he all of a sudden turn good or at least feel bad about what he did? I just thought it was a little dumb that he literally turned from the villain to a semi-ally in a couple sentences...that's just my opinion on that part (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2 - (view spoiler)[Interesting premise so far. It's not the sort of book that can be devoured easily (for me). The author is very descriptive and the language is very formal. I wonder who the Rat Dragon will choose at the ceremony (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[i really like the world. Interesting how the ceremonial swords hold an impression of the previous owner's. I really hope Eon can make it. Odds are not in her favour with her crippled leg and being a female.

This book is quite lengthy with its descriptions but I'm really enjoying it so far!

I'm really enjoying it too. It was slow at the start, but has gotten super interesting. (view spoiler)[There is definitely something going on where the dragons are concerned. The mirror dragon showing up and all of the other dragons coming.<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Through chapter 19 (view spoiler)[Ido is a creep. I really hope they can get the book back and she can connect with the dragon. And her fight with Kygo was intense. Things are going to be very interesting for her now.<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Just finished. What a book. (view spoiler)[I'm glad that Ryko and Dela didn't die. And Eona finally accepted who she is. I have to read the next one soon. Kygo has to be alive.<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

I find this book is not the kind that's easy to digest so it's taking a fair while for me to read it xD

(view spoiler)[The black folio was creepy. I like the rope of pearls (can't remember what they were) that wrap the folio around her arm. Super interesting. And it's crazy how Ryko did that. But it had to be done or they would have been found.<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15
(view spoiler)[it was touching how Eon freed chart and rilla from slavery and made chart heir! That shows irsa who always bullied them.

I can't believe the master had loved her in that way and had her hip injured on purpose to make money and make her more able to hide her gender... That's mental (hide spoiler)]
