Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Hi everyone! I'm Amanda.

I am 33, married, no kids unless you count my fur babies. 3 dogs, 2 cats. Definitely my babies. I am a graphic designer, but am currently "jobless" so I have tons of time right now for reading and whatnot.

My favorite genres are YA, fantasy, romance. I will pretty much read almost anything, but YA is a definite preference.

I am willing to read for the following:
The setting -
1 book set in Europe
1 science fiction book
1 book set at a college or university
1 book set during Mary Shelley's lifetime (1797-1851)

The body -
1 non-fiction book (for brains)
1 romance book (for the heart)
1 vampire book (for the blood)
1 book where only a head is on the cover
1 book where only a torso is on the cover (a little bit of arms is okay)
1 book where only arms or hands are on the cover
1 book where only legs or feet are on the cover

So, almost all of them. :) I do have a non fiction lined up, so can definitely go for that. And I'm looking for body parts on covers now.

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Oh, a team name! Well, Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love it so much I got married on Halloween!

So, not necessarily Frankenstein related, but Halloween related:

Hocus Pocus

I'm thinking on some others, though. I'm sure we can think of something awesome. :)

message 3: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany PSquared (tiffanypsquared) | 105 comments I signed up, but with so many other "Tiffany"s, I'm not sure if this is definitely my group. (Mainly because I did not say yes to a spreadsheet for the main reason that I don't know how to set it up!)
Does anyone know who I need to check with to make sure I'm in the right group?

Twist, I made a mistake and thought Tiffany was willing to do your spreadsheet. Are you okay doing the spreadsheet as well as being captain? If not, I have a couple more folks signing up. I can give you someone who will do a spreadsheet.

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments I would be willing to do the spreadsheet if we need someone for it. In my signup post I said I could do it if need be.

OK, I verified that I am the correct Tiffany for Group 3. Yay!

-I'm currently reading a book set in England, so I can do that one (I'll still be reading it on Oct 1, definitely).

-I don't do much NF at all.

-I love sci-fi, so I'm also game for that.

-I recently bought two books, both of which have one hand on the cover. Would either of them count? Hmmm...

-I have romance books falling off of my shelves, so that's a possibility too.

message 7: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments LoL, no problem, Twist. I already started it just in case, but whichever! :)

Other Spreadsheet?

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Team! Just checking in. I know I have plenty of science fiction books I can read. Will check my library tomorrow for body parts on covers. I'll try to think of some team name suggestions as well.

I love this spreadsheet!

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I found books to cover all the tasks, so I'm okay for anything. But my top picks would be head, hand, vampire, Europe, and science fiction.

I'm not sure if my torso book is okay as there is a bit of the head showing: Sons of Mayhem (Sons of Mayhem, #1) by Nikki Pink .

I'm also not sure of the exact year when this book takes place, but I think it is during Mary Shelley's lifetime: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen .

I’m Ezinwanyi and I’m a mod here. I love challenges.
I’ll be 41 on December 10. I’m a wife and mom to a 10, 8 & 6 yr old, oldest my only girl.
We live in Dallas Texas.

I am a romance 99.99999999% of the time. I don’t like reading no romance unless it’s nonfiction. Last week I read Born a Crime Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah which is an autobiography.

I do love to read

I like the name suggestions. My faves are:

-The Frankenfurters
-Or maybe The Bookensteins (?)

Assembly Required
High Voltage

But I really like:
It's Alive!

Oh, I forgot about trying to include 3 in the team name. Three-py Crawlers is all that comes to mind so far.

Nope, you didn't miss it. It's not a rule just something my past teams have done to remember which team number we originally were.

Tiffany PSquared (tiffanypsquared) | 105 comments Just a question about how this is going to work:
Who will decide which one of us reads a book for each part - and when will that happen.
I'm excited to start on the 2nd and I just want to have my book already prepared.
Thanks!

I’m ready as well. I usually like names with numbers like sixsational readers for team 6.

But I vote Frakenreaders and Monster Makers for my top 2 choice

Use yours. I am using mine to determine who will read what."

Ok, I'll keep that updated for us, then.

I vote for Three-py Crawlers! I like it. :)

We start the 2nd, not the 1st. So don't start your books tomorrow, or they won't count. Wait until the 2nd. :)

Tiffany PSquared (tiffanypsquared) | 105 comments I have one of my books already and the other is at a nearby library.

Heart (Romance): Rising Tides by Nora Roberts
and
Hands/Arms: Stolen by Vivian Vande Velde

I can't wait!

message 33: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Yay! I've gone ahead and plugged that into the spreadsheet.

And not having to find body parts makes that easy on me. XD Just need to find a good college book.
For my non-fiction I will either be reading
Wiccapedia A Modern-Day White Witch's Guide by Shawn Robbins or Wicca A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham

message 34: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 159 comments Thanks, Twist! I've had it open in my tabs, playing around with it a bit here and there, but eventually I'll want to close it. So an easy link is certainly helpful.

Is everybody ready to start tomorrow?!

I think I may read The Magicians (The Magicians #1) by Lev Grossman for my book set in college (magic college!) I'm in a fantasy mood, and that fits the bill. I'm looking at others, though, just in case I find something else. Depends on my mood, I guess.

Yes. I do. Yesterday (Oct 2), I read The Goal (Off-Campus, #4) by Elle Kennedy . Does that work?

If not, I also have Sound of Us (Us #2) by A.M. Arthur The Gravity of Us (Elements, #4) by Brittainy C. Cherry

I was guessing they didn't actually need people, as I was one of the last to sign up...
