Ok...Aspen and Lucy. Did anyone see that coming?

Cinder Ok, so I could totally tell that Lucy had a crush on him, but then at the end there when they started kissing I was all like, "When since has this been happening?!?!?!?" So I went back and looked for hints and I realized they were there all along. Like the fact that Aspen was the one who suggested Lucy being the maid to come along to America's house, and how devastated Lucy was when she figured out Aspen and America had been in a relationship. Did anyone see these hints before reading the end of the book?

Elyse I didn't.

Ilana if you read The Guard though - i think that you would have see it coming. since we get to see the other side of Aspen, and the interactions that he had with the maids during the various rebel attacks - you could begin to piece that one together. i'm happy about it :)

AbigailDenyse01 I didn't but I knew aspen was gonna fall 4 some one else and America was gonna be with maxon. it was inevitable

Kristen Yep, I knew.
As soon as Aspen let go of the idea of him and America together, I guessed he'd move on quickly. And then there was the familiarity between him and the maids. It was only a matter of figuring out which one it was.
I forget what specifically tipped me off that it was Lucy though, but I wasn't surprised when they were officially together.

AbigailDenyse01 I think lucy deserves aspen. he is a really good guy. I just think that maxon is better.

wow that came out harsh!

Brittany Yes, I totally saw it coming. By the middle of Elite, I knew it was going to happen.

Nikita No, I did not but I'm happy.

that was also a total surprise to me! when Aspen and America talked to each other it was always like "My love for you is undying" "Your the only one for me America" and other stuff like that. But I am glad that Aspen ended up with SOMONE at least, (because it would be totlly depressing if he didn't) and better Lucy than somone else.

Madi O.S Yeah, I knew. After reading the guard it was kind of obvious.

message 11: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah not at all, because I read the 3 in order and have not read the other novellas yet

message 12: by Sara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sara Yep, totally saw it coming. Or at least it popped into my mind way before it came in the book. Like Waaay back in The Elite I knew I wanted Maxon with America so I was like "who would be good for Aspen?" and there is this one part in The Elite where I was like "Aspen would be good for Lucy. Lucy needs someone like Aspen". Ding! Light bulb came on. "Aspen and Lucy!!!! That would solve all our problems!!!".

Joana Sousa I didn't see that coming but I am really really happy. Lucy is the perfect person for Aspen. And I'm happy that at the end they all stayed friends :-)

kayla tulop lolol nope. I really did think Aspen was still loyal to America but it turned out that he wasn't. The way he acted toward America was literally the same throughout the whole book. Then Lucy and stuff happened then I'm like wha when did this happen

Belinda i didn't. but i am glad Kierra went for that option instead of killing him or making him end up alone.

Andrea I guess I figured it out when they went to America's house and Aspen went to her room and saw Lucy all dress up with America's clothe and he smiled at that picture. Lucy was always sad and all so I'm glad she ended with Aspen because they both deserve someone to be happy with.

Latoya I saw that Lucy liked Aspen and I saw little hints that maybe Aspen was starting to like Lucy too, but I didn't think that it was too the point where they were all kissing and saying I love you. I was just thinking when during all of this did it get that deep between them two. But I am glad that it ended up that way. I think they make a great couple.

Chloe I literally almost screamed at the end when lucy ran in and i found out aspen loved her. When did he make the switch? I screamed in my mind, WHAT ABOUT AMERICA!!!!

Elise Lecocq I totally called it, I didn't really think they would ever be to gather but it cross my mind a few times and I was always saying how they would be cute together ! ( but the only reason I wanted them to be together was so
He would live america alone)

message 20: by Glow (new) - rated it 4 stars

Glow Yes! I wanted it to happen and when it did, I was like, "Yes! I knew it! I'm so happy!" I felt bad for Anne, though. But I wanted America to be with Maxon. It just had to happen that way. And it did! Yay!

Alaina Sampson I had no clue that this was happening. I didn't expect it but i understand why the author would write it this way. I feel like aspen needed a happy ending with someone that wasn't America. Maxon and America. I couldn't imagine it any other way

Megan It makes more sense after reading the Guard and the Maid, but it just came out of nowhere in the One for me. Yes, all three of the maids kind of liked Aspen, but after the attack in the One and they started kissing was the first actually established thing between Lucy and Aspen. Anyway, they are perfect for each other!

Lavinia Papini I kinda saw it coming that he was gonna fall in love with one of the maids but I was still surprised hahah

Saylor I COULDDD. I had a feeling that Aspen was getting tired of chasing, and I also could tell that Lucy had a crush on him. I mean I didn't know that they were seeing each other but I wasn't clueless.

message 25: by Erin (new) - rated it 3 stars

Erin It felt like it came out of no where, I was shocked when it happened!

Valentina Lucena a little bit, not at the beginning but yes at the end. i like them

emoreader i saw

message 28: by Angela (new) - added it

Angela I saw it coming. Like the way Lucy was acting with the other maids, and when Aspen invited Lucy to America's house instead of the other maid who liked him?

message 29: by nil (new) - rated it 4 stars

nil Later on I put the pieces together but when I first read it, no. I felt bad for Anne though.

Isabella Never, because for me it felt forced. Like the author wanted a way to get Aspen out of the picture.
