Apart from The Monk what are people reading this month?

I'm currently reading Landline, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka. Next I hope to try The Ways of the World:, not sure what else.

Mish | 92 comments I'm currently reading Frog Music by Emma Donoghue, and will be picking up Benediction by Kent Haruf next.

message 3: by Leanne (new)

Leanne (littlebunnylibrary) I've just finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, which I enjoyed but I wasn't blown away at the end.

Now I'm reading The Magpies, which isn't very good in my opinion - I like the premise but not feeling the writer's style (or rather lack of). Nonetheless I'm enjoying it well enough - it's a good idea, just not executed masterfully.

message 4: by Breanne (new)

Breanne I'm unofficially reading Half of a Yellow Sun. I say unofficially because the vast majority of my reading time is taken up by The Monk at the moment. Surprisingly, travelling hasn't given me all that much spare time to read.

message 5: by Franky (new)

Franky I finished up a few, Broken Glass Waltzes and They Shoot Horses, Don't They? for the Pulp Fiction/Noir group, and am currently reading 2010: Odyssey Two for the sci-fi part of the challenge. After that, I'm not sure. I might try to read the historical fiction part of challenge.

message 6: by Karen (new)

Karen I've got four books going which somehow seems to be the norm for me these days... The Maltese Falcon which has been slow going, The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, and on audio CD, The Book Thief which is narrated really well so far (two full discs in) by Allan Corduner.

message 7: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nantown) | 46 comments I've already finished Tender Is the Night, the fabulous new Louise Penny that will be released next month and am about to finish Stoner. I'm currently listening to Kafka on the Shore. I also plan to read The Cuckoo's Calling and Saving Kandinsky.
