Con is conflicted throughout the story because of his need to prove himself to Lucy and support Lizzie because of his developing attraction to her. Was Lucy right in making him stay true to the client despite mounting evidence supporting Lizzie’s claims? Was there something she could have done differently? Did Con bear responsibility for her mistrust?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Lucy is, first and foremost, a businesswoman. She had to make Con put the client first, but she has great sympathy for Lizzie and Con's conflict. With Con's past, her concerns were not groundless. Lucy had to work some real magic to satisfy the customer and do the right thing for Lizzie.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments Lucy annoyed me in this book. Yes, she had to convince Con that they had to do the job for their client. That's what their whole organization is about. But she could have told Con up front that they would sort out the whole mess when they recovered the treasure.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Lucy totally annoyed me. She has no problem bending the rules and putting the needs of the client aside when it suits her (in her own book for instance).

Her attitude toward Con was nothing short of disgraceful and Con did nothing to warrant it.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Lucy knew that the client had, in the past, had shady dealings, but she took his money and made Con put his interests first.
