Would you recommend? Absolutely! I thought the book did a really good job of showing different perspectives on events similar to those happening in real life. I've seen a lot of negative reviews stating that the other didn't show this right, didn't show that right, or should have showed how this happened etc. I feel like most of those reviewers forgot that this is a fiction book! I wish more people would read this book and open their minds to different points of view. There isn't just right and wrong, black or white. The world is made up of many various shades of gray.

Would you recommend? 100% yes! The audiobook was absolutely amazing...the best I've ever listened to! This is a must-read/listen for everyone!! In addition to it being incredibly engaging and possibly life-changing, the message is relevant and necessary. I am confident this book will set you on a journey of self-disvovery, help open your eyes to the real truth, and inspire you to make positive changes in how you view and interact with our precious youth of today! Phenomenal book! :-)

Would you recommend? Yes! Should be required reading! And the audiobook was fantastic!

Goodreads just posted this interview with Angie Thomas, and it says that several school teachers are teaching it instead of or concurrent with To Kill a Mockingbird

Michelle | 32 comments Read back in July for another prompt. Definitely changed my perspective on some things. 2017 has been a huge year of examining white privilege and what we can do/should not do to support our black friends and neighbors. I loved these characters and this book. Can't wait to read more from this author! Awards are well deserved <3
