It's not about speed, more about having people to talk to while you're reading the book. That's why we use spoilers, so you can read our thoughts as you pass the chapters that others have read!

Yea... what Chris said... most of us only feel a constant sense of anxiety about keeping up because we've signed up for so darned many Buddy Reads, and if we don't keep up we'll just fall further and further behind...

Haha yes I only joined this group for a week or so ago and there are already more buddy reads that I want to join than I possibly have time for.

Hailee | 2762 comments Siobhan wrote: "You have a rather busy February already! Me too!"

Lol yes I do. I haven't technically committed to all of them yet but I do physically own them all so can jump into them if I have the time. Well except the Malazan books which ironically is the buddy read I'm determined to do. I think I'll need the support of the group to even understand what is happening haha. This also gives me the perfect excuse to go book shopping so it's a win-win 😂😉

I hope you can find time for all your buddy reads as well.

message 16: by Hailee (last edited Dec 09, 2017 04:20AM) (new)

Hailee | 2762 comments I've just deleted a few from my tracker. Hopefully this is more realistic (well for the first half of the year anyway) and leaves me open for last minute additions if something irresistible comes up and bearing in mind my commitment to other groups.

message 17: by Hailee (new)

Hailee | 2762 comments So under my tracker I've added a list of books that I really need or want to read in 2018. This means I can have at least one thread where I can monitor my "2018 TBR" .

It's ambitious (too ambitious probably) but I am determined to try my best but I'll be prioritizing my 'series to make progress on' and my 're-reads' sections.

message 18: by Zaara (new)

Zaara | 4273 comments Great organization, Hailee. I swear I'm trying to organize my reads but am having too much fun chatting...
I may join you for either/or North and South or Count, if you'll have me, that is....

message 19: by Zaara (new)

Zaara | 4273 comments I also love the log style...the narration...very Mark Watney...very 😊cute!

message 20: by Hailee (last edited Dec 19, 2017 11:38AM) (new)

Hailee | 2762 comments Thanks Zaara. I do love organizing my reads for the coming year... its just sticking to it that I have problems with lol. As soon as I make a list my brain is almost guaranteed to be contrary and decide it doesn't want to read that after all. Still I live in hope ;-)

I decided to record everything I have done so that when I am in the middle of my nervous breakdown from trying to read ALL the books in the world, I can look back in my thread I know I only have myself to blame haha

And you (or anyone else that is interested) are more than welcome to join me for anything I'm reading. Just let me know if/when you have a date in mind.

Hi Siobhan, sorry if you did then I must have missed it. But yes 15th March suits me. We should definitely post it on the invite page, some people might have a smidgen on time left to fit it in 😂. I'm just about to go on my break so I can go to the invite thread in an hour or so or if you have time now feel free...

Thanks Siobhan and just to let you know I have also pencilled Crooked Kingdom into my tracker for April so that I leave time in my schedule to read it. If you end up liking Six of Crows and want to continue on with book 2 with me then we can always alter it to a time/month that suits you if mid April doesn't.

Ack! I thought you were a re-read when you said you'll join in the spoilering + came up with that quote. It is now too famous, no?
Thank god there were no plot-related spoilahs.

Sure is. I find innocence very attractive.
And it can be found in the most seemingly jaded of places/ppl. Double the effect when its unexpected like that....

Haha it's a hyped series at the moment. Another goodreads group I am with are reading the series starting January. Although I'll be starting it a little early so I'll have a bit more time in Jan to concentrate on Gardens of the Moon. I have a feeling I'm going to need it.

How are you liking Malice so far? I read the prologue earlier and it got me excited to start!
