What one time travel book should everyone read? Hopefully, it's obvious that the book you list is one that you've actually read. Also, I'd ask that you refrain from promoting your own book here. Please, no duplicate answers. Answers will be added to a new group challenge.

Previously my answer might have been different, but Hollow World Hollow World by Michael J. Sullivan just jumped to the top of my list.

David Haws | 102 comments That's a little like asking which potato chip everyone ought to eat (not many eat just one, and some people obviously shouldn't eat any). But I think I've enjoyed Willis's books as much as any in the subgenre. So...

Doomsday Book

Timeline by Michael Crighton or the entire Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. I couldn't decide. All the above mentioned are good choices too.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Wow, really, *Everyone should read* Outlander!? No, thanks. Just saying.

Otoh: Once in a lifetime, everyone should eat one potato chip.... ;)

(and I second Doomsday Book)

These two are my all-time favorites and wouldn't know which one to choose.

The Outlander series is pretty good, but the time travel isn't central to the plot, it's more just a vehicle for putting the main characters in interesting situations.

Duane Parker (tduaneparkeryahoocom) | 28 comments Since I'm currently reading and loving it, I am going to say The Mirror by Marlys Millhiser.

Doc | 34 comments For books in which the protagonist unwittingly travels back in time, is stuck there, and decides to try to improve things,"Connecticut Yankee" is No. 1, but I also like Lest Darkness Fall and Leo Frankowski'sThe Cross-Time Engineer series.
