I've only read the first two but they were good

I know, it definitely has its flaws, but I just really enjoy reading this series.
Btw, this series got me into reading :)

@Littlebooklover: Which book in the series was your favorite?"
I think City of Heavenly Fire :) But City of Glass was also pretty awesome.

As I said, "it got boring near the end of the series, but I loved the last book" which means yeah, I didn't really like CoFA
I haven't seen the movie yet, but since it disappointed many people as I've heard, I don't think I want to.

Things happened the wrong moment at the wrong place. I mean, the 'end battle' was in the institute !? and there was a portal IN THE INSTITUTE!? Whaaatt?? Yeah..
Also, Magnus didn't even got one funny line.. :(
But the actors did a good job thought. Especially Robert Sheehan (who plays Simon).
But yeah, I think the movie is good on it's own, but it's not a good book to movie adaptation.
I still enjoy watching the movie, it's not like the Percy Jackson movies.

Haha yeah, the Percy Jackson movies are terrible.
Magnus is also my favorite character, I was so disappointed that he wasn't funny in the movie.
Also, Jamie's (Jace's) face was not beautiful and Simon had more muscles than Jace..
When we saw Jace shirtless i was like: "OMG BOOOYY YOU NEED TO EAT MORE! This is not healthy! GOD"
But Simon shitless was like "Oehh :)"
BTW, Simon never turned into a rat, the vampires just took him and than he was there, shirtless, with a lot of vampires.. just no.

Also, What did you think of Valentine?
He didn't even have white/gold hair!?

Also, What did you think of Valentine?
He didn't even have ..."
I laughed so hard when I first saw valentine! He looked waaayyy to badass for Valentine. He wasn't charming at all.
Btw in the movie Hodge says: You should lie to them and tell them they're both your children.
Well thanks for the spoiler Hodge.. What if some people who watched hadn't read City of Glass yet?
Also, Clary ends up with the cup instead of Valentine... ?
I don't think there will come a City of Ashes movie.

Yeah, this series was pretty good! In my opinion, City of Heavenly Fire was the best book, but I like TID better.

WHAT?!?!?! I actually prefer Will and Jem to Jace... I don't like Jace...

And Julie, HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE JACE?! I absolutley love Jace! :)"
Well, I just don't like him. I mean, him pushing Clary away when he thought they couldn't be together broke my heart and all, but I still don't like him. Though, most people don't like Clary, but I like Clary... And I'm in love with both series too. Just a little bit more on TID's side...

WHAT!!!!!!!! You don't like Jace. We'll after I finish City of Heavenly Fire i'll see how the Infernal Devices are and I'll see if the characters are better then then the characters from the Immortal Instruments.

Yea, is it so hard to believe that I don't like Jace?

"Father . . . ," Gabriel began. "Father is a worm."
Will gave a short laugh. He was in gear as if he had just come from the practice room, and his hair curled damply against his temples. He was not looking at Tessa, but she had grown used to that. Will hardly ever looked at her unless he had to. "It's good to see you've come round to our view of things, Gabriel, but this is an unusual way of announcing it."
Gideon shot Will a reproachful look before turning back to his brother. "What do you mean, Gabriel? What did Father do?"
Gabriel shook his head. "He's a worm," he said again, tonelessly.
"I know. He has brought shame on the name of Lightwood, and lied to both of us. He shamed and destroyed our mother. But we need not be like him."
Gabriel pulled away from his brother's grip, his teeth suddenly flashing in an angry scowl. "You're not listening to me," he said. "He's a worm. A worm. A bloody great serpentlike thing. Since Mortmain stopped sending the medicine, he's been getting worse. Changing. Those sores upon his arms, they started to cover him. His hands, his neck, h-his face . . ." Gabriel's green eyes sought Will. "It was the pox, wasn't it? You know all about it, don't you? Aren't you some sort of expert?"
"Well, you needn't act as if I invented it," said Will. "Just because I believed it existed. There are accounts of it—old stories in the library—”

The Mortal Instruments(TMI) or The Infernal Devices(TID), because we were talking about TID.
I'll just give answer for both of them ;)
TMI:
Well, cassandra clare is a genius when it comes to writing big mysteries. She makes a mysteries, throughout the books the gives little clues, but when everything finally comes together your like: WHAT!?
Like, when I was reading TMI I already knew a lot of spoilers, but I was still surprised when I heard how everything came together.
(This ^ is mostly about the first half of the series)
Book one, you get the mystery, sort of. second book, you get clues, a lot of stuff happens and then third book: More clues, more happens, and then BAM the truth.
The second half of the books is actually another story line with the same characters. You can see them as 2 different series, but you still must read the first 3 books before you start the 4th one.
Because there is, kind of, another story line going on in the second half, the 4th book is mostly getting to the new story line. This is why I didn't like the 4th book that much. (still loved it) But the ending was AGFJNBAFAH. Yeah.. (new mysteries and a lot of action)
Then you get the 5th books which was kickass. The 5th book was very smart (of what I can remember) and I loved it.
And THEN the 6th book.
There is so much happening in this book, it's amazing. The characters are so good developed, it's just.. YAY.
There is a lot of action, a lot of humor(which is in every Cassie book) and just a lot of everything. XD
The mystery is a little less in this one, but that didn't bother me.
The thing with TMI is, it comes with its flaws. It's absolutely not perfect. The characters are very stupid sometimes. But just keep in mind, that this series is 6 books long, they don't develop in just one book. They have 6 books to develop.
Still, even with its flaws, this is my favorite series, just because I enjoy is so much. These books are mostly 5 hundred pages (the last one 700) and I've read them all in only a couple of days. SO yeah..
This is quite a long explanation.. hehe, sorry.
The infernal Devices.
This trilogy is also about Shadow hunters and in the same 'world'. But this series takes place in 1878 in London (sherlock holmes time) (TMI takes place in NY in 2008 btw)
In this series the characters are less frustrating. :D
The main character, Tessa, is shape shifter, but she doesn't really know that. A lot of stuff happens and after all the end up with.. Can you already guess? Shadow hunters.
This happen, a lot of awesome mystery is going on. And this book, hands down, has the best love triangle ever.
This series broke my heart in a thousand pieces.
Fun thing about both TMI & TID is that they are woven together.
If someone read this and is planning on read all the 9 books, I prefer to read them in this order:
City of Bones (TMI)
City of Ashes (TMI)
City of Glass (TMI)
Clockwork Angel (TID)
City of Fallen Angels (TMI)
Clockwork Prince (TID)
City of Lost Souls (TMI)
Clockwork Princess (TID)
City of Heavenly Fire (TMI)
Cassandra Clare is planning on writing 3 other Shadow Hunter series.
All these 5 series will be woven together. Some people think it's a little bit to much Shadow Hunter stuff, but I personally love it :D
So, haha, sorry, this is so long. Lol.
You just asked a simple question and you get this waaaayy to long answer, but yea XD.

TMI:
Well, cassandra cla..."
Yeah, there is romance. There is always an important romance story in the shadow hunter books. But they don't take over the story. There is a lot of action and other stuff too. :D

Haha, but I heard that a lot of people had problems getting through the first one of the series but that it got better when you read the rest of the series.
I loved it from the beggining, but if you have some problems with the first book, just push through, it gets better according to a lot of people.
