Marc-Antoine | 92 comments Hey Losers,

Could you possibly start a King's Dominion Folder where we could start a topic for each separate book and all the constant readers/listeners could list any findings?

message 2: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Siadak | 16 comments That would be great. I catch a lot of these as reread these older books. It would be cool to have a place to track and compare notes with other readers.

Erin Lauwereins | 2 comments Good idea!

message 4: by Lou (new)

Lou | 10 comments I like the idea! I posted a bunch of Pennywise King’s Dominion over on the FB Page last week, but it’s be cool to have them all in one place.

Taylor Hensel | 7 comments Greetings Losers,

Here's to hoping this question winds up in the next Bag of Bones. We all know that there are multiple King books we've read more than once. For me, it's a three-way tie between "It," "Pet Sematary," and "The Shining." However, I'm sure he's not the only author we read. Having recently just finished a re-read of my all-time favorite novel, "Lonesome Dove" by Larry McMurtry, I was wondering, what non-King novels have you read more than once? I'm always looking for recommendations, and would appreciate any suggestions.

Long days and pleasant nights, gang.

Marc-Antoine | 92 comments Hey Losers,

Are there any film or TV adaptations for The Eyes of the Dragon? I can’t seem to find anything.

message 7: by Justin (new)

Justin Gerber | 30 comments Hey, gang! Since most people are still communicating with us through Facebook, THAT'S where we'll be culling our questions from for "Bag of Bones". I believe we're doing another one in two weeks, so keep an eye out!

Development Hell for a while. Now purgatory.

This is a fun idea! I'll kick one off.

Matt Elliott | 1 comments Excellent idea

message 11: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 8 comments Why do you refer to “they” when discussing King’s writing? I’m always left wondering if you are referring to King and his editor, if it’s something that’s done by writers, or if (God forbid) you’ve decided King himself is more than “he”.

Jason (chapaj) | 1 comments Stacy wrote: "Why do you refer to “they” when discussing King’s writing? I’m always left wondering if you are referring to King and his editor, if it’s something that’s done by writers, or if (God forbid) you’ve..."

OMG. Yes, this!! Drives me crazy every time. My theory is they're used to discussing movies, which is more of a collaboration among various filmmakers. So for movies, "they" makes sense... But since King writes these books solo, I consider it solely his voice and creativity.

What are you referring to?

message 14: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 8 comments When you’re discussing the book you frequently say, for example, “I don’t know why they...” when more accurately it would be “I don’t know why he...” because you’re referring to the author.

message 15: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Siadak | 16 comments I’ve been listening since day one and I have never noticed anyone refer to King as they in lieu of he or him. 🤷🏻‍♂️

message 16: by Matthew (new)

Matthew | 5 comments I’ve listened since day one and have yet to hear that.

message 17: by Justin (new)

Justin Gerber | 30 comments In response to “they”, none of us were aware that we were doing it “frequently.” We’ll be more aware in the future. Let’s move on.

message 18: by Justin (new)

Justin Gerber | 30 comments And I’m back! I think I know what’s going on...

People (not just the Losers), have taken up referring to “he” or “she” as “they” because it is gender-neutral. In our respective fields, we’ve worked with many individuals who are gender non-confirming, so a habit develops after a time.

Hope this explains things! Thanks (as always) for listening, gang!

message 19: by Marc-Antoine (new)

Marc-Antoine | 92 comments Hi Losers, what according to you is the best Stephen King Companion book?

message 20: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 8 comments That’s really interesting! Thanks for explaining, Justin.

message 21: by Matthew (new)

Matthew | 5 comments Sorry if this doesn’t fit here, but since it’s goodreads I figured why the hell not? I’ve been searching for the Stefan Hutcheson comics that were brought up in Halloweenies, and noticed they’re primarily $50 and up. Were those ever released as a graphic novel or collection that might be more affordable. After hearing the description I’ve been dying to read them. Sorry again for the crossover. Love both pods, I’m looking forward what others you have in store in the future. Thanks!

message 22: by Tim (new)

Tim Vargulish | 3 comments I was also really interested in those Halloween comics but haven’t been able to find any affordable options. Would love to see if anyone has any ideas.

message 23: by Matthew (new)

Matthew | 5 comments Just started reading the bill Hodges trilogy. At what point is it safe to start watching the tv show to avoid potential spoilers?

message 24: by Justin (new)

Justin Gerber | 30 comments I believe the first season is the first book, so finish that first!

message 25: by Matthew (new)

Matthew | 5 comments Thank you!

message 26: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Siadak | 16 comments I haven’t read the story recently, but will keep it in mind when I do. Juniper Hill is close enough to Derry that Henry Bowers was treated there.

message 27: by Ivan (new)

Ivan de Queiroz | 2 comments Hi Losers,

I'm new at the podcast ka-tet and I'm devouring it.

I'd like to know name of the song used on the intro. Someone knows?
Already tried to Google it, no luck.

Thanks!

message 28: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Moore (kaddisonmoore) | 1 comments https://themostgainesville.bandcamp.c...

You can find the EP from The Most at that site. It has many of the shows songs.

I was wondering, due to the new ads on the podcasts, if there are plans for a possible patreon service or anything of the kind.

message 30: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Hi, I am a listener from Scandinavia (hence the somewhat poor English I write). First of all; I love the podcast! It was fantastic for me to discover that there was a SK podcast (I have since discovered that there are several, and I have listened to a few of them. Many good things, but also some that I don't care that much for). I love that you have long episodes, with a really deep analysis of it all. But sometimes I feel that it is a kind of echo chamber, where you all agree on what is great, what is bad, what is stupid etc. I have several times heard you all say that a certain thing is stupid or bad, when I think it's not stupid at all. A particular passage that you all agree are bad I can often remember was good.
Also, sometimes the podcast spent too much time on things that really don't have anything to do with the specific book that is discussed, so I wish that the episodes could be more on the topic sometimes. And I must also say that a few of the episodes are spoiled by the laughing and talking in each others mouths. I am aware that since I am not a native English speaker it is harder for me to follow when you talk like that, but still... I think it was the episode where you talked about The Raft; I almost gave up.
But still, I love the podcast for all the analysis it gives me from all the books I have read. Good work!

Lisa | 2 comments Are you guys on hiatus?

message 32: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Lisa, it seems like.

message 33: by Lou (new)

Lou | 10 comments At the beginning of IT: Chapter 2, there’s a child’s creepy giggle that plays over the WB and New Line title cards. I think it plays one more time during the movie. Am I crazy or was it a sound clip of Gage from Lambert’s Pet Sematary?!?

message 34: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Siadak | 16 comments They are doing weekly podcasts on the tv shows and movies coming. I think they mentioned taking a break from books for most of the rest of the year. Except, they are jumping ahead to do Doctor Sleep around the movie launch.

message 35: by Eric (new)

Eric Mark | 1 comments I think they are doing Dr Sleep in October for the movie and then focus on Castle Rock and picking back up with the Wastelands in Dec or Jan

message 36: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 2 comments Thanks, Eric Mark and Jeff Siadak.
