Susie I was a huge fan of Exit West and so I was really looking forward to reading The Reluctant Fundandamentalist. It didn't disappoint. I read it too long ago to remember specifics, and I can't recall why I gave it a four rather than a five!! I really enjoyed the unique narrative structure, the way that the narrator speaks to a unnamed person over a meal in a street cafe in Lahore. What unfurls is a failed relationship with an American girl, and eventually a failed relationship with America itself. It is a very interesting exploration of what it might be like to be a Muslim living in a post 9/11 world. I'm looking forward to reading whatever he has to offer in the future.

Susie No. It’s quite different to Exit West. I wonder what he’ll do next.
