one point tasks

1.1 Girl Scout Day (3/12)
Read a book with the word GIRL in the title.

1.2 (Linda C's task) Pick A Genre
Read a book with Coming-of-Age listed in its main page genre.

1.3 (Bethany's task) Reading Rainbow
Read a book with a GREEN cover (at less 75% - show cover) -OR- with a pastel color (lavender, pale pink, light blue, pale yellow, light green, etc...) cover (at less 50% - show cover).

1.4 (Tessa's Task) Remembrances: March Madness
Read a book with Any BALL used in a sport (*bonus point: if it's a basketball) on the cover (show cover).

1.5 Jewel Day (3/13)
Read a book with a jewel's name (emerald, diamond, pearl, topaz, etc...) in the title.

1.6 Passover (3/31)
Read a book by a Jewish author -OR- one with a Jewish MC.

1.7 (Linda C's task) Beware the Ides of March (3/15)
A seer had warned that harm would come to Julius Caesar no later than the Ides of March and indeed he was assassinated on that date in 44 BC.

Read a book involving a fortune teller, seer, or psychic where a prediction is made OR set in Roman times (Indicate which you choose).

2.2 (Amber's task) The Amazing Race
Read Two Books

1. Capture the Flag
Read a book set in the Ireland (must be at less set 75% in chosen country)

2. Detour
To reach your detour complete one of the following tasks.

A. Blue was originally the color associated with St Patrick. Read a book with a BLUE cover. (at less 75% - show cover).

B.The Irish consume in average 131.1 liters of beer per year - the 2nd highest per-capita consumption after the Czech Republic. Read a book with any drink on cover (show cover).

C. Many Irish family names start with "Mac" or "O'...", which means respectively "son of ..." and "grandson of ..." in Gaelic. Read a book by an author whose name starts with Mac, Mc, or O'.

D. The three most famous symbols of Ireland are the green Shamrock, the harp, and the Celtic cross. Read a book with all the letters in SHAMROCK, HARP, or CROSS found in the title (indicate which you chose) -OR- one of these items are on the cover (show cover).

2.3 (Bethany's task) Surprise Yourself!
Choose two books that you have submitted for the Surprise Me task within the past 6 months (excluding this month) that you:
1) Did not finish during that month and 2) Haven't used for another task.
Neither of the two books have to be one of the ones picked for you.

Read Three Books

Read a book that:
1. Has a female author.

2. Has the genre of either "Women's History" or "Feminism" on the main page.

3. Can pass the Bechdel Test.

The Bechdel Test requires that a work of fiction
1. Has to have at least two [named] women in it
2. Who talk to each other
3. About something besides a man

3.2 (Linda C's task) Women’s History Month

For this month-long celebration of women’s contributions to society and history I want to focus on her contribution aspects. Read three books.

1. Main character is a woman who is an employee, a homemaker or some other position that is part of a larger organization or group.

2. Main character is a woman who owns a business or runs an organization or group that has employees or subordinate members.

3. Main character is a woman who has an independent career, i.e. artist, writer, poet or other position that has no employees and reports to no one.

five point task

5.1 Arts & Crafts
Read five books

March is Music in our school Month & National Craft Month.
This month spell-out the word MUSIC or CRAFT.

For example:
