Beginning and How To: Basic Roleplay discussion

One of the most important things in most roleplays is making a character. They are who you are during a roleplay so you write from their perspective (typically from 3rd person, occasionally 1st). Most everyone will want to have a character sheet posted before you begin roleplaying that character but the detail level varies based on how much you want to write and what background information is needed. Down below this, there will be some blank sample templates that can give you an idea of what to include or you can even copy it and use it to make a character of your own.

Simple Template- These are basic and don't give much character information. Because of this, they can be good for letting you develop your character as you continue to rp. But they also can be problematic by making it difficult to know how to have your character behave without giving them a defined personality or you can contradict yourself with stuff that you have said about your character before.

Semi-Detailed Template- These provide a bit more character information than the simple templates but aren't very time consuming to make. They help to avoid contradictions of history/personality mainly.

Detailed Templates- These provide a lot of information and are what I would consider to be more than enough to start a roleplay and have a good reference to look back on as you go. They do take a decent bit of time to make though so don't rush through it. Tip: If using a lot of images/image links, use the (Some html is ok) button and contain them in a spoiler so your character sheet won't be miles long.
