I'm frequently looking to read topics related to writing and how I can become better at what I do. Although I'm not much of a fan of the horror genre, this book by Stephen King attracted me.
He writes with great simplicity as he talks about the craft of writing, and much of it starts with reading. That's also part of the reason why I wanted to do a reading challenge for the year. I wanted to be a little more structured in what I chose to read.
He gave me a lot of good ideas on how to re-structure how I approach things, and it even inspired me to go read one of his horror books (I'm currently reading Sleeping Beauties. It's been slow going, but I'm enjoying reading it right after the book on writing as I more vividly understand his examples.
If you're a Stephen King fan, a writer, or just someone interested in the craft of writing, I think you'd enjoy it.
