Edmund left a family behind in Virginia and started anew in New York. But, he obviously didn’t have any feelings for Letitia, just using her to help his practice. And, he didn’t have any money. What did you make of this man?

I was amazed that he didn't have any money. You would have expected that to have been his goal. He must have just wanted to be idolised.

He had to be some kind of charmer. Living in that house rent free? That was outrageous.

The funny thing is he actually had a skill and didn’t need to be so conniving.

Once the truth about his other family came out, I was surprised that he hadn't been killed sooner.

I was surprised that he didn't have any money. Where would it go if he wasn't paying for the house? It certainly seemed like his business was very successful.

I wondered about that, too.

This. The more we got to know about the man, the more surprised I was.

I thought this as well. Where did all of his money go? I wish this would have been explained better.

I really thought Amos may have found and taken that money.

Did we ever hear who took it? Sometimes I skim and miss minor details. Beside the amount of money he was supposedly bribing Calvin with shouldn't he have had a lot more money somewhere? His clients weren't all paying him in favors, like living rent free, right?

Nope. The author left this dangling without even acknowledging if there was money to steal.
