Iris Brashear For my third free reading, I chose to read Go Ask Alice, which was written anonymously. The overview of the book was about a young girl, around the age of 15, who got hooked on to drugs after going to a party and drinking a laced Coke-a-Cola. This book is her personal diary about the hardships she faced from being an addict. This book was appealing to me because of her age. Also, the book stated in the summary on the back that she committed suicide in the end. Therefore, I wanted to read about her life and how she viewed this struggle rather than looking at her story without really knowing it and thinking how sad it was. I would recommend this book to anyone! It was an easy read since it was her diary and the chapters were timeline dates; therefore they were short. When I started reading this book, I could not put it down so I finished it in around 2 days. Another appeal to me was that since it was her diary, these were her personal thoughts that she did not even share with family members. This book shared her life struggle, but also her self struggle of deciding what was right. Although this book has some facts in it, it is a book of fiction, because the locations and names are made up.
