Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Celaena decides to stay with Arobynn and take another mission from him. Why do you thinks she stayed and do you agree with Sam that she sold herself cheaply?

Lieke | 83 comments I think because it was all she knew for a long time, it is hard to leave what you know for the unknown.

Melissa (melissasd) | 194 comments I agree with Lieke, but I would also add that it's possible she still trust him and believes that he feels bad for what he did.

I think her head told her to go, which is why she had one foot out the door by paying her debt and getting her own apartment. Celaena knew he was a bastard. Her heart held her back, though, because deep down she wanted him to be truly sorry and still care for her. I don’t think she sold herself cheaply...she did the best she knew how to do at the time.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments As with all abusers, Arobynn knows which buttons to push with Celaena and plays on her affection for him. That said, it is clear that she is now suspicious of him and his motives, so her staying and taking another job irritated me perhaps because it highlights Celaena's arrogance again, which I thought she was getting over in the previous story.

Classic move for the abused. Just one more job to help out the abuser because she owes him but really it’s one more chance for him to show up differently while we know he won’t.
