Have you read Arsen, should this book be a series ?

I have just read Arsen and loved it such a brilliant read.
I have also read book boyfriend series I am a sucker for love triangles. I so wish this book had a similar ending to book boyfriend series. Sounds grim but killing one of the characters off so the other guy gets a chance with the girl sort of makes a happy ending for all involved and the other guy got the chance to be with the love of there life in a none cheating way in the end. I finished the book feeling so sorry for Arsen and hoping Ben would get some illness and later Arsen and Cathy would be reunited after Arsen has played the field, told you it sounds grim. Should this book have this sort of ending and a follow up book?
