I liked Griffin until he revealed the stuff about Wade, it really changed how I felt about him. In the end, I think Wade ended up being my favorite character. Or at least, I felt the most sympathy for him.

I liked this book though! Can't wait for What If It's Us, his book with the queen of all queens Becky Albertalli that's coming out in October!

@Katherine books that are killing us are the best haha!

Literally, though, it is so good I can't believe I haven't read Adam Silvera's books before (except for They Both Die at the End). He is such a good author and I'm so disappointed in myself for not finishing the book faster... Friggin AP tests.... ugh.
Anyway, the book was so good. I wanted to cry even though I have never cried during a book (I know, I'm so heartless). Griffin, though, was so good and I felt so bad for him. But did anyone else get the feeling Wade being bi (I think he was bi, right, not gay?) was just kind of random? I mean, I get that it was to help Griffin and everything, but it seemed kind of spontaneous and I was like uhh okay where did that come from...? But whatever, it worked yay. I liked the ending so much, even though it completely crushed my heart.

I can't believe I never read any of his books neither, I fell in love with his writing style and the emotions he puts in his book.
The book in itself was amazing, even though some things just made me so mad. The characters were great (can we talk about Denise? She's the best) and I liked each and every one of them.
BUT (and yes there's a but -actually there are a couple of them) the whole story with Wade bothered me. It felt unnecessary and (as Katherine said) random. It just came out of nowhere and I feel like Griffin wasn't ready to be in any relationship. But I still liked Wade!
Also, I didn't like the way Griffin's OCD was talked about: first, his parents didn't do anything before Theo's death to help their sons. And don't tell me they just hadn't noticed, they had. And in that case, you should be helping your child, in case it gets worse. And it often does. Second, the way Theo considered them as "quirks", just... this is so wrong! Having OCD is not a choice, neither something funny.
Finally, I am sorry to say I didn't like Theo. His way of dealing with things are pretty much the worst way possible and he doesn't seem to care if he's hurting people. And his relationship with Griffin is so unhealthy, he just uses him and makes him wait for nothing.
But all in all, I really liked the book!

Like a few people have said already, I cannot believe I haven't read any Adam Silvera before because he is such a fabulous writer and I felt so in tune with everything Griffin was going through. I think Griffin was probably my fave character because of that. I couldn't really stand Theo the further along things went because he was so selfish with Griffin's heart. And I liked Jackson a lot, but he and Griffin were way too damaged to try to start something.
Also, I liked Wade and I could really sympathize with his character, but I don't know that I really bought the whole "I'm-secretly-gay?-bi?-and-in-love-with-you" thing. It felt like it was forced and thrown in there for the sake of convenience. I just kept thinking, "If this guy's two best friends are gay, why wouldn't he just come out too? At least say that he was curious?" I still, however, found myself rooting for Griffin and Wade, though, because Griffin deserved someone who was a little more straightforward about what he wanted.
All in all, really great book. So glad we picked this one and that I finally got the chance to read along with everyone and participate in a discussion. (I've been a member for awhile now, but life has been so hectic that I can barely keep up.)
