(view spoiler)[ I find it weird that there are no chapter numbers in this book. But I’m liking it so far. I like the third person narration. And they actually refer to us as readers. It’s super cute and engaging!

I also really like Alice as a main character! She is so uplifting and adventurous! And also savage lol XD But I do really like her. I also want to know Oliver’s deal. I want to say poor Alice but she stood up for herself pretty well. Her Mother is barely paying attention to her or her kids. But I like it so far. I’m also intrigued by Ferenwood. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Well Oliver comes basically to be a snarky little asshole and try to get Alice to help with his task. I don’t know if she’s going to do it (in exchange for knowing where her Father is). I really want to know what her Surrender is and what she is planning on doing.

Honestly her just walking down the streets in Ferenwood and finding out about the town is just enough. I just love the whimsical magical feeling I get when reading this. It makes me feel like a kid again! And when she goes into the sweets shop and the bookstore! Omg I love it so much! I also like Alice as a character and I just want to know more about her and be by her side. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I love hearing about Alice and her father’s relationship. They seem to have a very nice relationship compared to her Mother. Her Mother just doesn’t pay attention to her at all and I just want to give Alice a hug.

I’m glad she decided to do the Surrender after all. I mean I wouldn’t trust Oliver to go find my Father. She would probably find her himself and I know something will happen but I’m not sure what. I love Alice standing up for herself and not taking any crap from anybody. It’s refreshing to find that in a middle grade. I want to see what happens next when she performs her gift. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Oh no Alice! I feel so bad for her getting a score 0. I don’t think the dance was her gift. It must be something else although I do like that it makes her happy. Of course I feel like something would have happened in order for her to find her father.

I’m honestly not sure what’s happening. I mean I do but I’m not really predicting anything. I knew Oliver had a task but I didn’t know it was to bring back her Father (although it makes sense). I just knew that Oliver and Alice would find themselves at Furthermore. I’m interested to see what other gift Oliver is referring to because I have no clue. And how Furthermore actually is. I’m excited for the adventure. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I get Alice doesn’t want to trust Oliver but her pride gets in the way sometimes. I mean that story was definitely something I wouldn’t believe even in Furthermore. I mean, yes it does seem like they believed it but it was really Oliver’s doing. Also that insta-love joke. When she was about to say she loved him and it turned out he used his magic so he can eat her. Or at least take her away. Oliver may be a know it all asshole but he’s trying to protect you. Furthermore is really dangerous as it is curious. Now I hope she is going to put her trust in Oliver. Yes, he did hurt her pride but he lived in Furthermore for a year and she just thought it was a myth five minutes ago. Surely it wouldn’t be so bad to trust him for a while so you won’t die. I’m still enjoying it. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Getting to know more about Furthermore sand Ferenwood. The magical setting is so intriguing and the whole twin story is very interesting. Although Furthermore is more magical, the way they display it so reckless but it’s so fun and dangerous. They eat people who have magic. And Alice is slowly warming up to Oliver but I’m just indifferent. Maybe a little more time. Although the ballet slippers were thoughtful. Can’t wait to get more into it. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ The land of Still is a scary place. But come on just by the name, Alice should have known to just stay still. Poor Alice doesn’t even know how to do that but lord that is scary. Also I bet Oliver lied about Alice’s Father telling him to go find her. But like why would he lie? Ugh and Alice doesn’t have a clue. And yea Oliver isn’t super rich but compared to Alice, he might as well been. Alice has had the simple life but it makes for her to appreciate things more. And Time being his friend. Ugh it really intrigues me to keep going. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I knew it. I knew Oliver lied about seeing Father. Poor Alice just feels so betrayed but like don’t leave him. You’re gonna die girl. Also this is giving me some serious Alice in Wonderland vibes. And I didn’t expect for her Father to be imprisoned because he ran out of time but it is interesting. Also the little fox is cute and I’m wondering if we will see it again. And also I’m assuming that Alice’s secret talent is bringing color into people but I want to know why she hates it so much. (view spoiler)[ NOT CUTE FOX! EVIL!!! Omg I can’t believe she lost her arm. It is true that it was both of their faults but omg it’s so terrible. I’m glad they are now defending each other and having a cute friendship. Obviously for the three doors, she’s going to pick Oliver because the other ones she can do by herself. And also her being a paintbrush is such a wonderful gift but I understand why she loathes it but it fits her so well. And using that gift to get rid of the foxes who were very mean, just shows that she is going to embrace her gift. Also her Father is a spy? So there is many things to look forward to. (view spoiler)[ Awww so her father did all of that in Furthermore for her to find color? That’s so sweet. Although it is just an assumption but I think it’s true. The town of Left does look to be very cozy and idyllic scene of the lake is just one I would like to look at for hours while I’m reading. Also I love the narrator that just pops in and out and I’m just loving this so much! (hide spoiler)]

Oh yea I forgot to say that I was finished. It was really good but the ending was rushed a bit. But I would definitely recommend it. If anyone wants to discuss, they are more than welcome.
