2.2 (Linda C's task) The Amazing Race
Read Two Books

1. Capture the Flag
Read a book set in the France (must be at less set 50% in chosen country) -or- MC is French.

2. Detour
To reach your detour complete one of the following tasks.

a. Provence is known for its lavender fields which bloom in June and July. Used for centuries as a cure-all, the "blue gold" is harvested and sent to distilleries to be used in aromatherapy oils, lotions, soaps and tinctures.
Read a book with a Lavender or Purple cover (at least 50% - show cover).

b. Dishes served "a la Provençale", meaning they are prepared in the style of Provence, typically feature garlic, olive oil and olives. A Mediterranean influence is not hard to spot: many sauces are tomato-based, chunky with vegetables and seasoned with zesty "herbes de Provence". Ratatouille is popular.
Read a book with food on the cover or if you want a more difficult challenge make it French food or featuring a French chef (show cover).

c. To get a taste of traditional Provence life at a slower pace, visit the smaller villages. In the narrow streets in the centres of Pezenas and Uzes, it takes no great stretch of imagination to picture how locals lived during medieval times. Gordes and Roussillon are beautiful towns built on hilltops.
Read a book set in a small village/town or if you want more of a challenge, make the village a mountain or hilltop village

d. The sea side of Provence is the French Riviera, Cannes, Nice, and Marseilles; visited by the rich and famous, movie stars and royalty as well as tourists; filled with resorts, villas, yachts, high fashion, expensive restaurants and shops.
Read a book with a MC who is rich, famous, a star, or royalty. Tell us which.

On the cover of each book should be an essential element of what makes a good vacation for you (a beach, groups of friends, etc.). Tell what it is and why it's essential.
