When did you start to suspect, if at all, that Van Dyke might have accidentally set the bomb off himself? What gave you a clue?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments At the autopsy, when there was a piece of wire in his hand, I wondered how he managed to trigger the bomb. All that external need to set the trigger remotely pointed to it being an accident, and not a professional job.

That wire found in his hand at the autopsy was my first clue, too. I never abandoned that theory.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments Yes, the wire in his hand told me that he had either set the bomb off accidentally, or it was a suicide.

~ Giulia ~ | 193 comments When the electrician (?) said that the bomb was to be activated from outside and it didn't add up with Van Dyke opening the liquor cabinet, the first thought I had was "wait, don't tell me he accidentally blew himself up?!"
Unfortunately when Snowberger died I began seriously doubting my theory. Why do I always fall for the double culprit trick??

Hey, I followed a couple of red herrings, too!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Yes, the wire solidified the theory for me although I had begun to suspect earlier.
