Blaze (as Bachman)
It
Insomnia
The Green Mile
Bag of Bones

And the Mr. Mercedes trilogy
His short story collections are all great, if more of a mixed bag. If that’s your thing. Enjoy diving in!
I highly recommend It. It is not just a horror book, I promise!

Sleeping beauties 4 out of 5
The shining 5/5
Dead zone 4.5/5
The stand 5/5
Obviously I love his writing and charechter building but till now my favorite is the shining. It’s nothing like the movie if you’ve seen it.
Now a days whenever i don’t know what to read next I pick up one of Stephen kings books. They never disappoint me.

I also read It, which was dreadful and horrifying in all the good ways until one small plot device threw me for a loop at the end. Still a great read though. (You should watch the movie!)
On Writing has some of the most practical, on-point advice for aspiring authors. There’s quite a bit of autobiographical content, which I found entirely riveting.
I also want to read more of King’s books, so thank you for creating this thread!

The first book is very different from the rest of the series. I can appreciate it now because I continued to read, but you are right. I struggled to finish it, and wasn’t real impressed with the conclusion. I hate it when people say “Keep reading! It gets better!” But in this case it’s the absolute truth. 🙂

I liked Pet Sematary, The Shining, The Stand and The Long Walk.

YES, but read it to be sure it's a good fit for your family. I encouraged both my boys to read RAGE and THE LONG WALK. Both are excellent for Tweens and Teens.

Misery is a great book too couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend.
Been reading a lot of king lately and just finished the outsider. It was pretty good. I’ve been debating whether or not to start dark tower or the stand? Anyone have thoughts on those two?
