Oh my word!! That is amazing!
I wonder if they have something similar for Cape Town/Western Cape.
How did you find out, Lu?

Monique posted about it on Facebook, I then shared it on the group's facebook page, and today I went and got my library card lol
Now I have to wait a few days until I am on the system and then I can get books :D
I wonder... let's see if we can find something.

I was. I've been living in Cape Town for 5 years now.
I think my parents might still have my Benoni library card.... that would be awesome!

I actually told Monique about the whole Gauteng Overdrive thing. Sadly it's only in Gauteng and none of the other provinces have it as far as I can find out. The selection is currently pretty minimal, but apparently you can request books to be added and depending on the demand they might add it.
Wish the Western Cape had something similar.

I was lying. After some more sleuthing it seems the Free State also had one Free State Overdrive. If I'm not mistaken they might have had theirs before Gauteng.
And for those interested here's the original link where I found out about the Gauteng one - link

Brilliant! I have 3 library cards - two belong to my daughters. Will save me a fortune in ebooks.
Nice Carolien!
Crusader I had a look last night at the selection available and I am super impressed! Now just waiting for my card to activate :D

Yeah, I browsed a bit and the audiobook section seems very good. SFF ebooks are minimal, but still an okay selection. [Not that I can use it either way]

You're also a fan of Romy Sommer, Lu. She has a new book out - Last of the Summer Vines. Looks like the thing to read in the middle of our winter.

Port Elizabeth libraries have had an online version for a few years. I randomly find things I want in there.
Ooooh thanks Carolien! I'll recommend it when I get access :)

Yes. You'll have to activate the Kobo via Adobe Digital Editions, download the ebook on PC and transfer it to Kobo. The help section has a section on how to do it on Kobo readers

I went to see the library this morning, because I couldn't log on. They suspect my card details hasn't been updated with the province, I'll keep you updated
