Happy reading!

Looks like we have quite a few books in common. I think I might try The Elephant Vanishes from your shelves... Either that, or The Alchemist, since I've been meaning to read it for ages and just never quite get to it...

Unfortunately the two books I fancy from your 'Read' shelf aren't available in my library at the moment. I would buy them but I've promised myself I'm not spending any more money on books for a little while!
So I've dipped into your 'Want To Read' and noticed you've got The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on there. I recently bought myself a copy of this book so I think I'll read this! I am going on holiday for most of August so I will either have to get it done before I leave or speed read it when I get back - but it will get read!
If you need any help with my shelves please give me a shout.

I found some books that I've been meaning to read such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But Tuesdays with Morrie is also interesting. Still haven't decide which one I'll read though. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Mihika!
I haven't heard from you yet but I've already finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time! I needed to read it before or after I went on holiday but didn't mean to read it in one morning with no breaks! It was great reading it again from when I was much younger because I got to appreciate it a lot more!
Let me know if you need any help choosing from my shelf!
Chloe

Hi Syndi,
I am happy you found some books from my shelf you want to read.
Out of your 3 I would choose Tom Sawyer or Peculiar Children.
I am about to read

Hi Ev, interesting choice! Let me know what you think :) Still debating on what to read but will keep you posted :)
Happy reading!

You have many interesting books on your shelf. I think I am going to read The Secret Life of Bees and The Time Traveler's Wife. Cheers! Happy Read..."
Glad it was a good read for you! It has been so many years since I read it, I probably should again...
I completely forgot to post here about The Alchemist... I really appreciated its spiritual messages, and it was well enough presented. It also got a 4/5 from me.
I'm still planning to read The Elephant Vanishes as well, but have a couple of others to read first.

I was scrolling through your read list and was having a hard time finding things to fit into the N.E.W.T.S challenge that I am participating in. However, I saw you read the Book Thief which is on my list of 12 books for 2018 so I shall be reading that this month! I hope I love it :)

I love the Book Thief! I hope you enjoy it!

We're a little over a week into August and 8 people have chosen books so far! And 3 people have already finished their books!
Shout out to Alahora, Amber and Chloe!
Feel free to pick a new one and start that (: If not, feel free to continue to chime in on the thread, compare books, whatever!

Could you please tell me more about that reading challenge? It's the first I've ever heard of it! I haven't had a chance to properly pick out a book from your shelves yet, but don't worry - I'll definitely finish one by the end of August. I'm currently leaning on When Dimple Met Rishi since I have it as an ebook but if I can find any of your read books in my library, I'll give that a chance. I hope you enjoy The Book Thief!

The N.E.W.T.S challenge sounds SO fun, Kemi! We have lots of Harry Potter fans in our group, so I've created a thread with the task list from Book Roast's O.W.L and N.E.W.T challenge, so anyone who wants to work towards either of them, can now track their progress here:

Thanks Chloe, totally understand, I have put myself on a Book Buying ban for sometime as well.
Sorry for the delay in response as I was caught up in few things. Let me know how you found the book - The curious incident as even i have been meaning to read it for quiet sometime.
I am picking up Jane Eyre from your Read shelf as even that has been lying unread and I have been waiting to find a reason to pick it up.
Will share my reviews soon.
Happy Reading!!!

SUMMARY:
In this challenge, participants are paired up to choose and read a book from their partner's read shelf and compare how they each rated the book. It's a fun way to discover new books, to read from different genre(s), and to make PenPal connections. This challenge repeats monthly, and you sign-up separately for each month you wish to participate.
COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE
- Week 1: Review your paired partner's 'Read shelf' and choose a book(s) to read. Post to this thread to update your partner on the book chosen. (You can ask them for suggestions too!)
- Week 1-4: Begin reading, and post any updates/thoughts as you read.
- Week 3-4: Complete your read, and post to the thread with final thoughts on the book and comparing how you and your partner each rated the book.
Participation = Post to thread (book choice), Read book, Post to thread (finished book thoughts)
NOTE:
- Please only sign-up if you are confident you have time to choose and read a book. If you are no longer able to participate after signing up, message a Mod or update this thread, so we can re-match, and no-one is left without a partner for the month!
