Throughout the story, Lorenzo appeared to have strong feelings for both Maria and the baby. What were your thoughts about him before everything was revealed? Do you think he felt sorry for her or genuinely cared about her? Was she the reason he didn’t want to marry?

I thought he was in love with Maria. Also, he probably didn't like the way his brother treated her and felt bad for her.

I thought he was in love with Maria and was content to have the relationship as it was. That’s why he didn’t want to get married.

Yes, he was definitely in love with Maria, which prevented him from marrying. Perhaps now that he realizes just how disturbed she is, he can move on with his life.
