Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo!

Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

I usually wouldn't mind being captain, however I don't know if I am the best option right now. I am getting ready for Florence to hit. There is a chance I may fall behind even before bingo gets started.

Ora, keep safe. I talked to my brother who lives in NC with his family and he is so nonchalant about but the new is making it seem very serious. I am worried

I'd rather not captain -- I'm in NC as well, but I've also gotten in a little over my head with challenges this month! It's like shopping -- I just can't stop.

Feel like I'm prepared for the storm, but I'm pretty far inland --if I was closer to the coast I'd be more worried, I think they are going to get clobbered! Ora, where are you? Hope all goes well for the next few days.

HOUSE KEEPING:
1. CHOOSE YOUR FREE SPACE BOOK TODAY. And post it so I can record it now. You can't start the free space book until the mod calls the first shelf, but let's figure out that book now.

2. I would like each team member to check in at least twice a week. That's minimum. Please let us know stuff like "my kids are sick so reading is slow."; "My book is slow and/or sucks"; "I don't have this book, can someone loan it to me?" etc"
Please let us know what's going on.

3. Ask questions if you are unsure, especially when it's one of those Cover color shelf--Red Cover. If you are unsure your book meets the requirements ask me or the mods. I would rather know that then find out AFTER you read a book that it won't work.

4. This is a competition. Let's have fun, but treat it as such. Don't fall behind on your books because catching up is hard.

For my free book I will read on the SOS' member-generated BEST OF lists UF

Just saw we have military for week 1. I will hopefully find a book tomorrow that I own, can get from my library or off of KU. I am planning on starting my free spot book first thing tomorrow morning so I may wind up waiting until the afternoon, if I get no interruptions, to look for book.

Merritt is kickass and learning how to use her enhanced vampire powers now and coming into her own. I love how she realizes she wants to stay true to herself. This is an action-packed book delving further into the paranormal world with the shifters having to decide if they are going to stay or retreat back to Alaska until the vampire’s going public blows over. I love this series. Each book building more on the previous one. I am a bit frustrated with Ethan being a jerk most of the book thinking he was doing the right thing for the family and shifter alliance. Now I have to wait to see what he is going to do to make thing right with Merritt.

I was bored, okay?

Just bored. This is supposed to be a series that I could chuckled though and lift my mood. I loved book 1 in this series and laughed my way through the first 3 books. But it has been a steady decline since then. I used to enjoy the humor and snark but it hasn't been the same.

This book features Ben (Gigi's ex whom she dumped when he proposed to her in book 3) and a fellow college student Meagan who seemed to have a secret crush on each other.
At a school mixer, Meagan was nearly killed in a terrible accident and had to be turned to save her life. When Ben went to visit her, she accidentally turned him since she was a thirsty newborn.
This book was their journey as they struggled to accept their new "undead" reality and process their relationship now.

I didn't feel the chemistry between Meagan and Ben. I found Jane Jameson annoying as usual. The story was just slow. The narrator was still excellent but this story wasn't engaging or interesting. This installment was a miss for me.

I really should have reread the prior book in the series. There were things that I forgot about so I felt like I was trying to play catch up with what happened with Amy and her boys in the last book. The NRO (New Ruling Order) is trying to take over the world. They are working to “save” humanity by eliminating most of the population. They wound up injecting Amy’s boys with an isotope to be able to track them to control their father. They killed him when he wasn’t any use to them in the last book and now Amy is trying to save her son’s lives. This is an action-packed book with a special ops team finding the scientist who created the isotope to engineer an antidote and taking down the NRO. I am kind of bummed I picked this book for military because it could have worked for superhuman with the psychic powers that the MMC got after a special healing and the healers that are in all of the books.

Always worth having a look at the top shelves for some of the stranger shelf names Ora. Maybe one of the other books in the series will also qualify :)

Review: This was a nice little romance -- but nothing earth shattering. The leads were pleasant and likeable and I was happy they worked things out in the end. There was a little too much internal dialogue for me -- I would have preferred a little more dialogue between the two MCs -- but I'll keep going with the series when I need a nice easy read.

post 32 I completed my military book. When I clicked on the first page of shelves for Forged in Ember, it's shelved 11 times now.

I hope to finish my book since I’m home from work as my son decided to get a virus from school. So two days at home for me and him to watch teen titans go and whatever else. Though he just started a new book last night . So we might watch the movie on Netflix once he finishes the book.
