This is my first time reading both! I'm almost done listening to Watership Down. I was not expecting it would be this intense! lol. I've already gone grocery shopping so I plan to sit on the couch and finish reading The Brilliant Death.

Sounds wonderful! Fall temperatures are finally appearing here in the South and I couldn't be happier. :)

I read chunks of Virgil Wander and Always Look on the Bright Side of Life: A Sortabiography. Focusing on them today.
And I realized I also have to read Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Saga, Vol. 2 today for Dewey's Bingo game!
I don't think I'll be finishing Dracula today! lol

And listened to:
The Feast in the Abbey and
The Monkey's Paw
and worked on my thematic reading plan for Frightfall:

It's not! They're doing a new sheet this week and a new sheet next week so just start with this week's! :)

Dracula will be postponed until November so I can focus on King! Even though it would obviously be perfect for an October read. lol
Annnnd this morning I have officially started Kingtober with Mr. Mercedes audio!

Yay, Kelley! Great job. I love the Gunslinger. Sadly, I've only made it to book three of the series, but hope to continue on in the future. So many books, so little time.

Thanks for joining us! Enjoy! Happy Fall to you too...just wish the temperatures here would follow suit.

Oh you have to get them back to the top of your TBR! I would go back and reread the previous books each time a new one came out. Well up until books 5-7 came out anyhow. Since they came out back to back over a few months, I only reread up through book 4. I didn't need to worry about refreshing my memory with the last three so close together. One of my favorite things about this series though is that the Dark Tower world is connected to sooo many of King's books! Some are obviously connected (Insomnia, Hearts in Atlantis, Black House), but others have loose connections (Dolores Claiborne, Rose Madder). I need to re-find the list of connected books. Also in the front of most of his books, where they list all of his works, they notate which ones are linked to The Dark Tower.

I used to LOVE those Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Books! I had several of them when I was younger.

I have Watership Down in audio also. Though I still have never read the book. I remember watching the animated movie years and years ago. the Black Prince Rabbit terrified me! I had nightmares for a LONG time afterwards that the Black Prince Rabbit was going to come get me. Because of his role in the story and I was so young I still didn't fully understand death, I believed he was WHY the rabbits died. It took me a long time to understand he didn't cause the deaths.

I'm starting The Waste Lands sometime this week. I read The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three last year.

It's a dark book no matter what age! I can't believe it was directed at children, holy cow. I've never seen the cartoon movie and I think Netflix is remaking it sometime soon?

OMG, that gives me a headache just to look at it! LOL

lol I know, right?! It's so complicated!

They are? I hadn't heard that! I will have to watch it. Now that I'm sooo much older and I'm not afraid of the black rabbit anymore. LOL

It's supposed to be on Netflix in "late 2018." A 4-part miniseries. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5670764/

I finished reading Blockade Billy on Friday. I'm about halfway through The Body, the third story in Different Seasons. I hope to finish it tonight.
I also started The Waste Lands but I'm not very far into it at all.

This one got a lot of mixed reviews on GR but I enjoyed it a lot and subsequently bought the rest of the series.

A Stephen King Marathon! I read Different Seasons YEARS ago so don't remember very much about it. Joyland I read a few years ago and really liked. And End of Watch I read as soon as my library got it in audio after it was released. :-)

I'm almost done with End of Watch. I kind of want to reread The Outsider because it really is a companion to the trilogy. I wish I had known that before I read it. Spoiled the trilogy!

I added those to my Prime Reading list but I already have 10 titles "checked out." lol
