Ooh I've been wanting to read the first two :) and I've heard good things about this Jock Serong.

The Lessons by Naomi Alderman

Bulibasha by Witi Ihimeara

Thanks Erica. I've really enjoyed both the Jock Serong books I've read - The Rules of Backyard Cricket is especially good :)

Aaaarrrggghh, I missed the bit where the books have to be available in both print & as an ebook.
I'll have another think.
I'll have another think.
& it was the New Zealand book I had to remove unfortunately.
But here are my three
Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life by Graham Nash
The Watchmaker's Daughter by C.J. Archer - it's Steampunk month in my town! (in November)
Be Frank With Me by Julia Claiborne Johnson
But here are my three

Updated the participants list and the book pool. Finally had a look into those books you chose Carol - Wild Tales looks particularly interesting! Hadn't heard of it before.

I'm a CSN&Y fan as well, but an absolutely massive Hollies fan. Nash is the only one who has written his memoirs.

Good to see you, Darkpool!
Good to see you, Darkpool!
Glad you could join in Darkpool! Look forward to getting some more books in the pool.
Kathleen and Lisa let me know when you've picked your books as well :)

And I've done that because of the second reason the Book Pool is a trial for me. My eyes get too much bigger than my belly and I want to read so many of other's choices. I've already got six books earmarked to read!!
My choices are

The second was really good to if you read and like this one

The start of a gritty series

I enjoyed this as much as her first book, Elizabeth is Missing

I know I want to read so many of them too Lesley! It's great having heaps to choose from :)

Good thinking, Lesley!

A Song of War: A Novel of Troy, Beyond A Boundary and The Polar Bear Explorers' Club

In this book is “Kiwi Summer Christmas “ by Kris Pearson
And “Beneath theChristmas Stars” by Tracey Alvarez
I think Kiwi Authors are New Zealand’s hidden resource!
I don’t know if the other Authors are Kiwi’s but, Kris. & Tracey are!
I would like also, to enter “Christmas Wishes” by Serenity Woods
All of these are on e-mail. I’m in the Christmas Season! Spent one Summer Christmas with the Kiwi’s. Loved it!

Hi Rita, thanks for joining in.
Unfortunately I can't find any of those books on Goodreads or online - so it doesn't appear you can get them in print and e-book (one of the requirements for the book picks)
Please select another three that are available in both print and e-book.
Thanks :)

My three books are 1) Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
2) When I Hit You by Meena Kandasamy and3)A horse walk into a bar by David Grossman.
Three of the many books that mock from my bookshelf as I often relegate them to the bottom of my TBR pile while adding new books to it. Determined to get them read. 😁
Yay was hoping you'd join us Ninitha! Will add those books to the pool. I would recommend everyone read When I Hit You! I read it earlier in the year and it's probs the best book of the year so far :)

Also, I nearly missed the Book Pool notification. Haven’t been using Goodreads as frequently as before, but I’m glad I came back to the app, right in time for this. 😁😁

I’d love to join.
My books are;
- The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy
- The Museum of Modern Love by Heather Rose
- A Girl is a Half-formed Thing by Eilmear McBride
Looking forward to some of the goodies on the list so far!

Not long till November now - can't believe how fast the months are flying by!
I might head to my libs this week to see if I can pick up some of the book pool books so I have a few to choose from when it starts :)
There's still time for more people to join if you're sitting on the fence. Just post your three books before 31 Oct.
Kathleen and Lisa I think you are still yet to pick your books so let me know what you choose :)

I'm trying to catch up on New Zealand authors, so two of these are.
Do we just tick off as read as usual, or is there another way to notify?

Welcome Josie! I have added your books to the book pool.
When November begins everyone can begin reading books from the book pool. I will post soon to show what everyone needs to include in a post when they finish a book from the pool. So keep an eye out for that :)

Here are my three picks :)

3. A Prayer for Owen Meany
It's November! So that means you can start reading from the Book Pool :)

**Post Format**

Ninitha (Niko) wrote: "Just one question. This is only for November or will it run through December as well?"
I took it to be December as well.
I'll do my best, but I have just been the sickest I have ever been as an adult (really vicious flu bug) so I am behind with my reading & I have 2 books I want to complete by the end of December.
Other than my own own selections, I 'm hoping to get to Kitchens of the Great Midwest & Stranger Than Fanfiction If time allows, I would love to reread Season Of The Jew

If you've never played, here are the rules:
1. When you sign up pick 3 books you want to be included in the "book pool."
2. You can pick any book released before the challenge has started and that is available in both print and e-book form. If its a book in a series - please on choose the first book in the series. Please no duplicates.
3. Once the challenge starts you will read books from the "pool."
4. At the end of the month whoever read the most books from the pool is the champion!
Have fun!
The challenge begins on November 1st.
To claim points, please don't start your books from the pool until then!
You can sign up and add books until October 31st. You can join the Challenge after this date, but you will not be able to add books to the pool.
