one point tasks

1.1 Ghosts
Read a book set in a haunted house -or- GHOST in the title.

1.2 (Marilyn's task) Pick A Genre
Read a book with Banned Books listed on any page on its genre list (give page its on).

1.3 (Linda C's task) Reading Rainbow
Read a book that is predominately ORANGE, BLACK, or WHITE. (show cover)

1.4 Werewolves
Read a book that the MC is a werewolf -or- a MOON on the cover. (Show cover)

1.5 Vampires
Read a book with the word BLOOD in the title -OR- with Vampires (more than one vampire) in the story.

1.6 Black Cats
Read a book with a Black Cat or Witch on the cover (Show cover).

1.7 (Amber's task) Nephew's favorite movies

This month is my nephew's birthday and some of his favorite movies include Jurassic World, Star Wars and Black Panther.
Read a book that has either Dinosaurs, a superhero or is set in space.

2.2 (Amberly's task) We Bought A Zoo
Read Two Books
This month we're learning some fun facts about our Giraffes and Pigs.

1. Giraffe
Complete one of the following tasks.

Giraffe's can be found on the continent of Africa
a) Read a book set in Africa

Giraffe's are usually yellow and brown
b) Read a book whose cover is either 50% yellow or brown (show cover)

Giraffes can eat 70-80 pounds of leaves a day and feed 16-20 hours.
c) Read a book that has food as one of it's main genre on it's main page.

2. Pigs
Complete one of the following tasks.

Pigs come in a variety of colors but are mostly known for being pink.
a) Read a book whose cover is 80% pink (show cover).

There is an island in the Bahamas were you can swim with pigs.
b) Read a book about swimming or where the main character is a swimmer.

Pigs are one of the first animals to be domesticated to farm life.
c) Read a book where the main character either owns or works on a farm.

2.3 (Tessa's task) Halloween
Read Two Books

1) Read a book by an author whose First AND Last initials are in ALL HALLOWS EVE

b) Read a book whose title begins with a letter in CANDY CORN (Ignore leading articles: A, An, The).

2.4 (Marilyn's Task) Celebrate Columbus Day (10/8)
Read Two Books

1. Columbus "discovered" America in 1492. Read a book whose number of pages includes two of the numbers in 1492.

2. Columbus's armada consisted of 3 ships: the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria.
Read a book whose author's first and last names begin with an N, P, or S M. (any combination or even one letter doubled, like SS or NN).

1) Read a book by a Canadian author -or- set in Canada

2) My husband is forever talking about his Canadian canoe/fishing expedition – Read a book where the first letter of every word in the title can be found in: ,b>CANOE FISHING EXPEDITION. All words count. Letters may be used only as often as they appear in the phrase (e.g. you have 3 'E's, but only ONE 'D') Minimum 3-word title.

3) French is one of the two official languages of Canada (the other is English). Read a book with a French-speaking character. (explain if not obvious)


3.2 (Amber's task) I Love Fall
Read Three Books

1.Living in the south we don't always get much of a Fall but when we do it's a favorite season.
Read a book with "Fall" in the title.

2. I love how pretty it is with the leaves changing colors.
Read a book with trees changing colors or with a cover in those colors: yellow, red, orange, gold, brown (show cover

3. There are such fun holidays during this time of year.
Read a book set during a fall holiday. ie Halloween, Thanksgiving
