Elena is the only female werewolf in the world. And there are less than 40 werewolves total worldwide, with her pack being the largest and the one with the power. But, she doesn't want to be in the pack. She was turned werewolf, not born, and she desperately wants to have a life and a family in the normal world. But, she is not normal, and pack politics pulls her back into the drama.

I liked this book. It wasn't anything special, I will not keep reading in the series, and I likely will only recommend it to a very specific group of reader friends. But, I was entertained. Elena was fairly annoying due to her lack of maturity (she came across as a 16 year old and not a 30 year old), but I liked the full cast of characters.

It hit the mark for multiple challenges and kept me occupied during an internet-free weekend thanks to the most recent nor'easter. And some days, pure entertainment is more than enough to get you an average rating.

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments I found Elena a bit annoying. The word that keeps coming to mind is petulant. I wanted one good, adult conversation between her and Clay! The constant fighting was draining when there was little other besides sex holding them together.

And, I was really excited for the character of Logan! Guess I shouldn’t have gotten so excited about him 😂

If I read more series, I would probably keep going on this one though. Don’t let the three stars fool you, I rarely give these types of books higher than that. Even my beloved Eve and Roarke consistently get three stars.
